Smartphones are fine. There are no problems today with finding good calendar software for any smartphone out there. But when it comes to desktops (or laptops), there are exactly two cases in which using calendars in 2024 isn't a complete disaster:
Yeah I like the GNOME calendar and it works well with Microshit Enterprise accounts if you set up the accound in Evolution + Evolution-EWS (if the admin has blocked IMAP etc access so you need OAuth). Thunderbird + Tbsync is my go-to though.
I like GNOME calendar, but it can’t deal with my work outlook calendar.

Yeah, what’s wrong with GNOME’s calendar? It’s basic and it works… fine. I use it for my daily tasks.
Window’s default calendar is similarly mediocre.
