I want to be able to read and reply to personal text messages on my work Mac. I would be logged in to my work iCloud account, but I’d want to log in to iMessage with my personal iCloud account. Is that possible?
It seems that I have to enable syncing through iCloud to get my texts synced from the phone to the Mac, but I don’t want to sync to my work iCloud.
Any suggestions for getting this working?

IT can see anything on your work laptop. If you’re ok with that go ahead if people have suggestions here but my suggestion is to not.
Depends on your company policy. I have Mac from my company, and it is not managed by them.
You have your iMessages binded to your iCloud id. Only solution would be to add second account and switch between them.
You can’t do it.
