This Olympics has been one of the most insane that I’ve seen so far, but I also don’t watch the Olympics very much at all. Has there been this much bad sportsmanship in previous games because the amount of disrespect shown to non-western athletes is actually insane. I know doping scandals and allegations are common every year these games take place (although certain countries are definitely accused way more than others) but this time it seems even more targeted. I don’t know, I don’t follow sports so maybe I’m behind but it seems like this shit is getting more and more explicit as the years go by.

I haven’t payed too much attention to Olympics either, but I can’t recall last time there was this much drama. I get the impression that the west is incredibly sour that China is doing well.

The only “scandals” I can ever recall whenever the Olympics come up is doping, specifically of Russian athletes (although, nowadays I am incredibly skeptical if those allegations are even true), but this year there’s been so much outside of doping accusations its actually insane. I do wonder if it has to do with politics outside of the sport, because America and the collective west are steadily declining in favour and maybe thats why they’re being more aggressive in their accusations and animosity…

I think that’s exactly what it is. The Olympics has traditionally been used as a way to promote western superiority. Now that the west isn’t dominating, we see a lot of animosity as a result.
