    Hey… thank you.

I joined reddit when I was 18 and since turning 31 I’ve gone through quite a lot. Disowned. Beaten. Stabbed. In an abusive relationship. Homeless. Abused some more. Almost all of it was alone. Reddit was the only social media site I ever used and while it changed heavily, it still felt… homey. Was the only consistent thing in my life during that period. Leaving reddit has genuinely fucked me up a bit simply because I had to leave behind the only thing that gave me even a shred of comfort.

While I know I’m pathetic and a specific case, I still wanted to say thanks for making this a lot easier.

I had also been using Reddit for over a decade. I’m only now realising how early I got on Reddit’s boat. Was mostly just a lurker but, apart from WhatsApp, the only social media, and main news source (tad cringe, yea). Your comment hist made me think where is the /c/atheism around here. PS: I keep coming here almost everyday. If you ever feel you need to reach out to a stranger, likely across the world, drop me a DM.

Fuck bro, I’ve got some pretty bad anxiety right now but compared to this it seems nothing. I wish you well, stranger.

My anxiety would be spiking right now if I had the blood sugar for it. But I haven’t eaten in days so I can barely think straight.

You’re not pathetic at all. Familiar things can be comforting. Nothing wrong with that.
