Yet a closer look at US foreign policy over the past eight years reveals that nothing fundamental will change for the Palestinian people and the region as a whole. This is because President Joe Biden’s administration in effect continued the policies of the first Trump presidency without major changes.

Your friendly reminder that while Al Jazeera is one of the best outlets for news in the Middle East, is still state sponsored media from Qatar.

Also, when the crux of the argument is “He is just doing what trump used to do” and trump is talking about doing so much more this time…

      state sponsored media from Qatar

I take this to mean they’d be censored when reporting about Qatar, but not when the topic is Isn’treal. Iranian government constantly lied about everything to its people. Imagine my surprise that when it came to a certain ethnistate they didn’t need to lie.

We obviously will never truly know what the rules are and aren’t.

But understand that the Qatar government’s interests extend beyond their borders. ALL countries do.

As for what I assume you are alluding to: Al Jazeera’s coverage of the October 7 attacks were very biased and either excluded or ignored a lot of information that heavily shaped public opinion. As for the ongoing genocide? Obviously they don’t need to spin that because israel are glad to be monsters and other nations in the region are glad to report that they are monsters.

Which is the reality. No outlet is truly neutral and it is important to understand what biases exist and what their sources may be. The BBC wasn’t going to shit on the royal family because they get a LOT of funding from royalists. But they also aren’t likely to go out of their way to protect parliament.

And same here. When such a deranged editorial statement is made… think about why it was likely made.

Yeah and I’ve got a bridge in Florida to sell you too.

Seriously this is just copium to avoid the obvious: the majority of Americans voted to make the world worse. Criticizing Genocide Joe isn’t going to change the fact that Trump will be much worse for Palestinians and Iran.

Did we already forget about how Trump nearly started WW3 with the illegal assassination of the 2nd most powerful person in Iran?

Don’t act like Biden hasn’t moved us closer to WW3 by putting thousands of troops directly in the conflict and escalation fully funded and defended by the Biden administration. How many vetoes are we at now to defend Israel?

Maybe in a sense that ‘genocide with some support’ and ‘genocide with full support’ still result in genocide.

What a terrible article. It cites that Biden didn’t push enough for a two state solution to mean the same as Trump. Then the desire of normalization of relations between Israel and other countries (before the war anyway). And finally continued isolation of Iran, that’s right as continuation of Trump.

Makes sense, other than empty words Biden wasn’t actually making any moves to change US support for Israel’s actions.

Biden’s loyalty was free and 110%.

trump always comes with a price and since every country surrounding Israel hates them and is already allied with Russia…

It’s a price that’s probably too high to pay for Bibi.

With trump in the WH either outright helping or keeping America out of it, China and NK helping, Ukraine is kind of fucked.

If Putin can hand the ME Israel, then they’ll back him in Ukraine too.

Either NATO steps up and it’s WW3 or Ukraine is fucked.

Tell me again, which country paid that idiot to enact the Muslim ban?

It’s a price that’s probably too high to pay for Bibi.

First, it’s likely something he’d get for free anyways. Second, he’s already shown that he’d be willing to pay any price to continue the war in Gaza - even giving up on the hostages as their families demand more efforts be made on their return.

If Putin can hand the ME Israel, then they’ll back him in Ukraine too.

Depends on what you mean by “back” - maybe in terms of not publicly denouncing the Ukraine invasion but pulling a North Korea seems less likely…

      Could you clarify this?

Either NATO steps up and it’s WW3 or Ukraine is fucked.

There’s a third option, the EU steps up without use of nuclear arms and embraces the parts of unoccupied Ukraine. That becomes untouchable, and then from a place of greater security, Ukraine’s battle turns to restoring what was taken, to take that back. (Well, this was largely already the focus, but the embrace prevents a major turn in Russia’s favor.)
