To all Americans here, please get educating, agitating and organising. I think with all the climate catastrophes, insane government actions and generally thing just getting worse this is a wakeup call to many people, especially those who are “apolitical”. Weakening the capitalists in their home will weaken them elsewhere, weaken the chain so that the links are easier to break!

So they’re actually dead serious about taking over Greenland. It must have to do with all the Oil in the Artic because this went from a joke to an actual campaign promise a little too quickly

The take over of Canada is making more sense after reading this post about how most of America’s bread basket is going to turn into a desert due to climate change.

Went to deliver our party’s seasonal newspaper through my neighborhood. While I was putting a paper in a mailbox a man came up to me asking what paper I was bringing around. I told him it was from our party and he got all excited, saying he is happy with a party like us and that he voted for us.

It’s moments like these in which I remember that despite however exhausting all the organising can be, it is worth it.

My old phone slowly died, so I decided to finally dump all the Google shit and bought Huawei Pura 70, it doesn’t have Google services (as expected) AND also have a Chinese-produced Kirin CPU, so almost zero western dependency, and it’s soooo good, I love it 🥰

At this point I wonder how much damage a capital flight would actually do. We have so many failsons here running the show I am convinced it will do a bit of damage and that is about it.

Another note, I loathe hearing trad-pioneer types talk about homesteading like it was the good old days when America back in the 1800s was still completely politically fucked. People were straight up buying votes back then and only white people were allowed in government while cholera and medieval diseases still killed many. Most of the time the influencers have this gargantuan plantation house in the middle of nowhere that probably still costs them 40k something a year in property taxes and utilities alone with full hook-ups that they “built themselves”.

Shit is just so corny and fake in every way.

Me too, i think its better on the long run but pretty bad short term. There is a legit paranoia among the petit bourgeoisie in México, and many are trying to leave, which would be great honestly.

Good reminder of that I despise the petit bourgeoisie more than actual billionaires sometimes. Mostly because it is exactly the kind of people I have to deal with often in my line of work and I’m convinced 80% of them are piece of shit scumbags who scrape on entirely by cutting corners in every transaction, interaction and contract-work they ever do.

There will be 10 cm of snow tomorrow and there is a panic about it lol. Talks about people not reaching the office and such. Don’t get me wrong, the country is not prepared for even so little snow. Today it was also freezing and the roads were slippery as fuck and I saw many people falling. And I’m not planning in breaking my neck getting to work lol.

Anyway, my local action group split up. Not because things are bad. The opposite actually: we got too big for one group and we decided to make two now! Yay for progress.

Impressive! Will you liaise with each other to make sure you both don’t accidentally compete and get in each others’ way or will you be more autonomous?

I just got fired because they didn’t want people with temporary contracts. I was already trying to find a new job, since I didn’t want to stay already but they didn’t tell me when they were going to fire me so now I don’t have a job and without a new job planned. It sucks, because it’s also a time where I have a lot of healthcare expenses, all of them to do with being transgender.

Hes acting as a heel that is serving to legitimatize the fucking godawful kkkraker fascist government and serve as an easy punching bag that can make people rally around our politicians in the UK on a point they all agree with.

Its blatant upper class collaboration between the UK and the US, nothing more, UK politicians get a poll boost because they can score some easy PR wins, Musk likely gets better trade deals.

Not only that, he is also boosting far-right parties like AfD vehemently. It seems that with his newfound political power he will try to instigate the ascent of as much fascist parties to power as is possible for an influential multimillionaire. He might be a lunatic, but in no way is he a complete fool.

And what liberals are doing to counter him are of course insufficient.

goes on to rant about the rise of far-right in the EU

Their politicians and like-minded journalists can shout all they want about how Russian propaganda corrupts the EU from within, and call for banning Russian media outlets, but when it comes to USA and Elon Musk in particular, we can only ‘condemn his intervention’ into the politics of European countries. No one would possibly think about blocking X or the like. No one would lift a finger to actually prevent him from spearheading the rise of the far-right in the EU. I’m usually optimistic but it can’t be helped if 80 years after USSR crushed the Nazi Germany more and more countries are drifting to the right. Germany, France, Austria, Greece, Italy, what the heck is happening to Europe? Have we forgotten?

Is it just me, or is pinball an overpriced hobby?

Doing a brief search online, it looks like the average pinball table is more than twice the cost of a gaming PC, and even simulators like Pinball XF and Pinball Arcade have DLC that is overpriced for what you get: typically $10 for a handful of tables, which sounds trivial until you notice that purchasing the entire DLC library can cost hundreds of dollars, which is just obscene for one computer game.

I guess that somebody can excuse the physical tables by saying that they’re made for establishments in mind, not ordinary households. I can accept that. Although you have to travel pretty far if there are specific tables that you want to try, and public tables can come with other inconveniences such as waiting for your turn.

There are some low-budget alternatives besides simulators and public tables, such as portable pinball tables (I had one based on Small Soldiers when I was little), though I am guessing that those are unpopular with adults. In any case, it’s hard for me to imagine a low-income person being passionate about pinball in general. Even collecting LEGO sets would be a cheaper hobby.

As far as virtual pinball goes, Visual Pinball X is a FOSS simulator and works great. Agreed that it can be an expensive hobby though. I’m pretty poor and even playing in arcades is too expensive for me to do regularly. I can’t imagine ever owning a table, or even one of those faux tables that looks like a real machine but is actually just a simulation.

Slightly related but my father was always a “pinball wizard” (70s teen). He picked up Pinball FX, played it for two months and got in the top 30 leaderboard and just dropped it.

Still think about that sometimes, what a madlad. Didn’t even buy any DLC.
