I’ve got to get over my continued hesitation, on seeing an article (like this one) that starts out looking like it’s been machine-generated, to reach the obvious conclusion that it was in fact machine generated. Open weight? You mean open source, or is there a new term.
Open weight means that the weights of the model (the part you need to do local inference) is available. Open source doesn’t really apply to models, since there isn’t source code, but usually it means that the software to do inference is open source.
