This from the guy who wears oversized cowboy hats and undersized t-shirts to cosplay as “rural”.

Those don’t look like the same shoes to me. His have a bigger tread and a loop on the heel.

Put your glasses back on PP!

That’s not even the point. This is the same "Jagmeet has a watch"bullshit. Being a party leader level career politician means you’re likely in a position of privilege. A single mom with 2 kids isn’t gonna be it. That’s how the system is set up. I’d rather a rich ally than a rich enemy.

Both have the loop. I think the thread difference might just be because of the shadow on the right pic and the way the sole of the shoe is somewhat rounded.

While the largest super power in the world is threatening to take over our country Pierre has pivoted from talking about how many genders there are to Carney’s shoes.

It’s their playbook, it’s not about what they will do, it’s about whining about the other guy. Seems to work well for them though unfortunately

Its the norm for conservative radio commercials. Constant bashing and oversimplification of the other party’s plans while belittling anyone that supports it all without any mention of their own plan.

It’s what conservative voters respond to. No ideas, just feelings about how things are bad. Actually learning about why things are the way they are and what needs to change is too hard, and less comforting than feeling like they’re special and others are the ones keeping them down.

Not that I support PP (also I hate that I need to specify that first) but he’s got a couple videos on YouTube that I thought were fairly well done addressing a couple things regarding trade and some plans.

I have yet to see those, they must be the only ones. I have only ever see him attacking others, and belittling others. People who do that constantly are not to be trusted

Yeah I agree. I’m trying to be optimistic about whoever we have next isn’t going to sell us out or pull a USA. PP doesn’t instill much confidence but I just hope he has some heart or desire to do good and not be evil.

It’s not even like he bought those on the tax payers dime, the man worked at the top of his field with generational talent, now he’s running for prime minister.

And since when did conservatives care what rich people spend their money on?

Dude is a major part of why Canada didn’t get hit hard by the 2008 global financial recession. That’s more than PP going to accomplish in his political career (even if he could do it several times over) He can have his $2k shoes as far as I’m concerned.

I mean, if he wasn’t a complete hypocrite about it, then he would also get rid of any MPs on his side that wore any expensive clothes or accessories, but he never even mentions that his sides doesn’t do it, because he can’t afford the possibility of bringing attention that way.

I’m not Canadian so I may miss something important, but for me the problem (and it’s the same in my country) is not that he has 2000$ shoes (if they are the same shoes indeed); it’s that he stages his belonging to the people, and that these shoes show the artificial nature of this staging.
