      The key is

      click to reveal spoiler

looking at the vertical lines only, which becomes easier once you notice that they form a pattern

It’s crazy that once you see them, they all pop out. I’m able to easily switch back and forth between perspectives. Neato!

I think this is why people that find four leaf clovers find tons of four leaf clovers. I asked my cousin how he does it so well years ago and he said, they look different I’m not sure how else to describe it, they kinda pop out at you. About a month ago I found my first one and now I’ve found almost twenty.

This is the word play that makes this a trick. When we look for circles we automatically look for a curved line. Why wouldn’t we? But these shapes aren’t circles.

No idea what everyone is talking about. I don’t see any circles. Is this just one of those “lets see how long these dumbasses will stare at a screen” jokes?

I just want to say that this is not one the those magic eye thingies. This advice isn’t helpful here. What does help is telling people that the circles are between those rectangles.

I’m the other way, even when I did finally see them it was a strain to keep seeing them, the circles keep disappearing back into rectangle sides unless I give myself a headache trying to focus on the circles…

Okay, I seriously thought you were screwing with me, and I was a sucker for staring at this image. I thought that maybe since your username is “atheist”, it was a commentary on faith, and the folly of believing in something that doesn’t exist.

Now, a few hours later, I’ve tried again… AND THIS TIME I FOUND THE CIRCLES.

Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior Jesus Christ?

I know circles and discs are used as synonyms, but I was just looking for the actual curve, or circumference. But if I was looking for discs, then I think I would have spotted them quicker.

No offense but that sounds like the most pretentious “the sun blinded me” I have ever read :D

        None taken.

But if you’re doing to say something so hyperbolic next time, maybe drop the “no offense but” and own it.

It’s like saying “no offense BUT YOU SUCK!”, and that sounds tacky.

Now please go back to reddit.

I was serious when I wrote “no offense” as I didn’t meant to offend you. Then i wrote “it sounds” to implies that I don’t think that it is what you were saying but my interpretation of it and at the end I wrote that emoji to bring across that it was meant in jest.

As you wrote yourself its hyperbolic. we don’t know each other so its fair to interpret it as an attack but it was not meant that way.

If I hurt your feelings I am sorry that wasn’t what I was going for. If I was I would tell you that straight.

I’m not familiar with this one, but I guess we’re more biased towards processing stimuli as 3D over 2D, as we live in a 3D environment?

I mean, anytime I stop focusing on the discs, I default to the embossed squares. But maybe this is different for others?

It took me about 30 seconds before giving up and looking for clues in the comments to help my dumbass out but the effect is still really impressive!
