Keep me alive
Sadly , it didn’t work…
RIP, Bram.
Vim is the only tool I can’t imagine to replace. I could go from Linux to BSD, I could switch shells, I have used many windowing environments, but vim just is.
I use it even on Windows.
Rest in Power you legend.
Oh no! Such sad news. We owe him so much.
:(
:wq
What terrible news. Rest in peace Bram and thank you for your dedication to the vim project.
Now I’m sad :(
:q!
Vim has been with me all my adult life. I can’t imagine using a computer without installing vim at one point or another. It’s like an old Swiss army knife you can’t live without.
Come to think of it, this man has had a lot more impact on my life than almost anybody else and I didn’t even realize it.
Thank you Bram.
I used VIM for years and more recently Neovim. Much of my livelihood is enabled by his work and who knows how many have had their lives positively impacted from his raising of awareness for children in need.
Thank you, Bram. :wq

May his loved ones find solace in sharing those memories of him, that inspire them most.
