As we have seen a rise of toxic behavior we have decided that it would be time for some rules. We would love other ideas too and feel free to discuss it here.
Also we are thinking about, to put in an Automoderation tool that could help us a lot. Because its currently not easy for us to scan every new comments and reports are rare currently. We want your opinons on that too, because its important to us that this community is based on the people here.
The shortlist that we have currently as idea for the Rules:
- Be Kind to each other
- No Hate speech
- Dont harass people
- No Racism, sexism and any other discrimination
- Dont attack other people just because they have differnt opinions (Stay on Topic)
- Do not double post
How about “no private cars” at all? period. you can do public transport, commercial transport…all you want…but none owns a private car. sure, it wont create many jobs for drivers as robocars will drive them, but also it will keep ppl from driving cars.
Could we find some way to cut down on posts like “Double parked driver in Talula, Illinois” and it’s just a pic/video of some dumb car?
While I share the sentiment, I don’t know think we all have to be notified EVERY time a driver ANYWHERE does something rude/inconsiderate.
The posts that are most helpful in this community are the ones addressing policy, and notifying us when governments or corporations are doing something that unfairly prioritizes cars. There are too many cars to count, but we can target governments much more easily.
Should also include: don’t invite violence against people who simply own cars.
I don’t think it needs to be as specific as that why bit just don’t incite violence. Period. Otherwise, it’s making a statement about the community as a whole. (also, this is already covered by the rules)
Automoderation is rather uncompassionate and emotionless. I didn’t leave Reddit just to join Reddit lite, I don’t like it.

Hah! Don’t put words where the commitment isn’t there willingly. I understand.
Though such moderation would likely mean me migrating to a smaller community with proper human moderation, which isn’t a bad thing. That’s how Lemmy works after all.
One question, can we include bikers as well ? (As in motorbikes)
They’re quite the menace as well

Is this community good for UK citizens too?
