The Schwarz Group, Germany’s largest retailer and owner of supermarket chain Lidl, is planning to pitch the government to be the lead developer of a major data center central to Europe’s artificial intelligence efforts.
Yeah the Lidl guy flies under the radar compared to the Musks and Bezoses of the world. But having a European company build AI infastructure is actually huge for tech sovereignty - means less dependence on US/China for critical tech. Better for data privacy and security too.
