The OP and mod for the community edited the headline and melted down when questioned about it.

Edit: forgot this:

And this happened after locking the post and not answering the question:

Yes I used an alt to show disrespect to someone who was hostile.

I do the same. She is such a prolific poster, and I really do not think she has the time to read 1/2 of what she posts. I think she sees the title of an article and posts it.

Oh, it’s Sunshine again. Just going to copy another comment I’ve made about her last time I saw she was involved in some drama.

Sunshine has a history of power tripping, and is able to avoid attention for it by using alts. As Beaver, they put the lemmy.world vegan community in trouble with admins over that vegan cat food drama, then later banned respected members of the community for “downvoting vegan comments”. They were ostensibly de-modded when another mod spoke up, but if memory serves they actually still had their Sunshine alt on the mod list months later.

Someone else provided some more context here, but it seems that post was deleted. Or at least I can’t access it anymore.

While trying to search for that post I saw that more recently, the admin of VeganTheoryClub accused her of harassing them across multiple accounts until they abandoned their account and closed their instance.

So anyway, I go with PTB by default. But I would say in cases where the original ban was legitimate, using an alt for ban evasion would itself be a bannable offense in my eyes.

    What are you referring to?

I just see a link with no context

    EDIT: OP has added context

Yes I used an alt to show disrespect to someone who was hostile.

I’m gonna have to say BRP just based on that. The fact that you took Lemmy so seriously that you went to the trouble to use an alt just to “show disrespect to someone” is cringe. This ain’t prison, man.

    Y’all deserve each other lol

Why waste time. Just block community, post here to document and move on.

Don’t waste time on people who lack maturity for proper discourse.

I’m curious what the accusations of double voting are about. Does she think you are using an alt to upvote yourself? Seems like an insanely small thing to get angry about.

Well, I did use an alt after the post was locked and I was banned. I can’t see the voting records and I would suspect she did the same.

Gotcha, that makes sense. That’s more or less what I meant by seems super small to get angry over. I find it difficult to believe a single persons capacity to make multiple accounts and vote makes all that much difference in any one thread

          Thanks for taking the time.

Edit: the double voting is my way of showing a lack of respect in this situation.

And that’s very much against most comms rules. I’m not saying your point was wrong, but the way you approached it was.

It looks to me like Sunshine actually did answer your question (she wanted more people to see the post). But you just replied that it wasn’t “the answer you were looking for” and kept badgering her about it. It’s not against our instance rules to editorialize article titles anyway, so I don’t know what your problem with it was, since you never actually expressed it afaik.

So in this case, it seems like a BPR or YDI.

That’s visibly not what happened. Someone else, thinking it was OP that changed the title, asked why the band name was removed from the title rather rudely. Sunshine responded as you said she responded to OP. OP then actually joined the conversation, asking how removing the band name helps with visibility in a perfectly polite fashion. Sunshine refused to respond to this, instead choosing to go on a tangent about the other person being rude and getting defensive about people assuming malice in her actions. That’s when OP said “not the answer I was looking for,” which seems perfectly fair, considering OPs question was never actually answered. OP then asked why the attitude matter was being brought up to them, and Sunshine just called them arrogant.

This is all visible in screenshots seen here.

PTB for sure, but also BPR based on the comments.

Edit: full YDI since both of those accounts were you.

I’m not sure what you mean by BRP?

      Edit: Looked up the acronym.

Eh, not sure I agree as the mod kinda lost her shit especially when the community rules don’t mention swearing.

I asked without any of the “problematic language” and got the same response.

      Tried to get an answer.

I then just laughed and pointed out their behaviour.
