I used to work at a candy factory where most of the machines that made the packaging were from the '50’s or earlier, but had been Frankenstein’d with all sorts of modern sensors and stuff to maximize efficiency. Anyways, there was this one machine that was fascinating. It was from the 30’s I believe but all it did was make small boxes from flat paper stock and it was originally designed to be hand loaded, but they had this robot arm set up that looked like the one in the OG Jurassic Park movie that flipped the eggs basically handing it paper. The arm was controlled by a dusty ass Windows 95 PC that had one job, the robot arm program. This was like 4 years ago.
