It, being the game, will certainly run through proton… basically everything does, just give it 3 to 6 months for patches to happen.

What won’t run is their entirely unneccesary kernel level anti cheat.

Because running a closed source game as root is a fucking terrible idea, that compromises your system’s security and integrity.

Alas, their anti cheat prevents proton for at least the recent EA titles ive tried (Madden). I should have kept reading. Yeeeee you are spot on, friend

Kernel Anti Cheat is functionally a marketshare boon to MSFT, to prop up their shitty bloated spyware OS.

… and I am saying that as someone who used to work for MSFT.

Do everything possible to keep people on Windows, make it annoying or difficult for them to leave.

Hopefully I do not need to mention that Kernel AC doesn’t even work. Point me at a game with Kernel AC, give me 30 minutes, I’ll find you a working hack/cheat engine/method for sale, which, even more ironically, 99/100 times only work on Windows, not Linux.

Agreed 100 p. Its all bullshit and dangerous to boot. I’ll stick to Linux and not have to deal with MS bullshit

The even more insane part is that EAC and BattleEye have supoorted linux via proton for 3 or 4 years now.

Just… hardly anyone bothers to use this support, which they are already paying for, by licenscing EAC and BattleEye.

Almost every single AC currently in use has at least one game where its used, and is working on linux, no problems.

It is entirely possible to get AC to work on linux, I have been digitially screaming this for years, it is nice to find someone who is listening, lol, my thanks to you.
