2.0 mi Combined Nature Walks

Two nature walks that go in opposite directions from the Red Canyon parking area. One takes you to two small waterfalls while the other climbs a short bit along a small canyon carved by Red Rock Creek. Area is heavily used for its ample sunning opportunities and is a great area for the whole family.

The view down into the canyon from the bridge that spans the furthest point on the trail. This was around noon, and the light was getting close to dropping into the canyon.

Blakiston Fall, with about 20 ft of freefall and another 15 ft or so leading into it. A couple of viewing platforms are built near the falls, including where this photo is taken from.

A second, smaller falls above Blakiston falls. There are a few good views that are worth going just past the falls for. Mt Blaksiton left of center.

I didn’t get into it here, at the main lake it was chilly but refreshing. I think the majority of the canyon water is more splash around with kids as opposed to swimming hole. The falls are pretty well isolated from the trail.
