President Donald Trump has secretly signed a directive to the Pentagon to begin using military force against certain Latin American drug cartels that his administration has deemed terrorist organizations, according to people familiar with the matter.

The decision to bring the U.S. military into the fight is the most aggressive step so far in the administration’s escalating campaign against the cartels. It signals Trump’s continued willingness to use military forces to carry out what has primarily been considered a law enforcement responsibility to curb the flow of fentanyl and other illegal drugs.

The order provides an official basis for the possibility of direct military operations at sea and on foreign soil against cartels.

But directing the military to crack down on the illicit trade also raises legal issues, including whether it would count as “murder” if U.S. forces acting outside of a congressionally authorized armed conflict were to kill civilians — even criminal suspects — who pose no imminent threat.

The next administration should aggressively prosecute every single DoD official who orders troops to murder foreign nationals in a sovereign nation and also any troops who follow those orders.

Also, don’t forget that Trump is a rapist and a pedo defender. Likely a pedo himself too.

I don’t think that’s going to work since the defense of “following orders” does in fact work. The only time it doesn’t work is when it’s incredibly clear.

This isn’t a matter of good and evil, but rather legal and illegal. And it’s probably all legal

I’m less concerned about the Whitehouse deciding who’s the head of drug cartels than I am about the US military invading central and south american countries.

That’s exactly what I’m saying. Is the president of Mexico now a leader of a cartel? He listed Manduro just recently as being one. This is not good.
