Anyone who does not enjoy spam and trolling will rejoice at the trend of tighter controls, while anyone who prefers 4chan can still meet their own needs, hopefully not at the expense of the rest of us. I would of course hope for a nice balance between those extremes, and naively would have thought that a simple email address and perhaps quick human test would have been sufficient for that?
Many say moderation issues will be the downfall of federated platforms.
So expect moderation policies to tighten, not loosen over time.
