Whenever I see an update on these sort of articles, the planet always ends up being a tide-locked hells-scape full of toxic chemicals.

1·5 hours agoI feel as though people in 3rd world countries will be hit the hardest. Most of the jobs in first world countries can already be done much, much cheaper by foreign workers. Although we could outsource everything, it feels like we give people jobs just to keep people busy.
In the next two decades, I’m convinced that the countries that can’t afford to invest in AI and automation will be hit the hardest. The value of their work will be reduced, and richer nations will not freely share the technology.
…it was my point about world hunger. Things are set up to where the global poor have just enough money to by food and shelter. Their low wages are why people in my country have such a high standard of living.

World News@lemmy.world•Iranians form human chains at bridges and power plantsEnglish
8·17 hours agoThis is pretty much the only strategy they have. Although their country is one third as populous as the United States, their defense department has less funding than Arkansa’s public education system. Outrage from the America public is their only defense against US military superiority.
It’s a good strategy. I’d be upset if my tax dollars blew up thousands of civilians making a human chain around a powerplant.

2·17 hours agoI’m pretty sure it’s common for people to write phonetically. I commonly write “are” instead of “our”, but I fix most of my mistakes during an edit. The “it’s” mistake is also common, although that’s usually a problem with my phone’s auto complete.

1·1 day agoI’m just telling you how it is. I’m pretty sure alot of the seemingly democrat propoganda on places like Lemmy and Reddit are actually Republican propaganda.
If a bot farm says anything that is perceived as pro-Republican, they will probably be banned immediately. It’s a waste of their time and effort. I believe they get around this by posting unhinged pro-democrat messages; the moderators don’t delete it because it is seemingly pro-democrat, but it drives undecided voters towards the Republican party.
… just you wait. As we get closer to the next election, this and other platforms will be overwhelmed with aggressive anti-police and pro-gender fluidity messaging. I believe the technical term for what is happening is “false flag operation.”

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•'No on-site doctor': Dental student died in ICU overseen by remote 'tele-health' physician who pronounced him dead on a video screen, lawsuit says
3·2 days agoBased on what I’m reading, the problem was he wasn’t administered benzodiazapines for the withdrawal symptoms. This combined with alcohol induced organ damage were contributing factors.
I feel as though most doctors would have been reluctant to prescribe a sedative. The more liberal they are with prescribing sedatives, the more likely their practice is to be overwhelmed with drug addicts.
…it will be interesting to see how this plays out in court.

World News@lemmy.world•Trump warns a 'whole civilization will die tonight' if a deal with Iran isn't reachedEnglish
663·2 days agoCivilization (noun):The stage of human social and cultural development and organization that is considered most advanced.
The definition Oxford Languages uses is:
“they equated the railroad with progress and civilization”
I hate to say it, but Trump used the correct definition of civilization in regards to his destruction of civilian infrastructure. It doesn’t imply genocide.

4·2 days ago…the designer benzodiazapines are taking the symptoms your describing to a whole new level.
The equivalent of thousands of alprazolam tablets can be acquired for a few hundred bucks. Addicts think they hit the jackpot when they get access to them, but they can be outright killed by the withdrawal. There is no ceiling for GABA A tolerance, so there is no ceiling for the withdrawal.

Technology@lemmy.world•Group Pushing Age Verification Requirements for AI Turns Out to Be Sneakily Backed by OpenAIEnglish
111·4 days agoI’m pretty sure the vast majority of the people who are anonymous are robots and stealth marketers. Normal people aren’t usually willing to put in the effort to maintain their privacy. They use their “anonymous” social media and AI accounts on devices tied to their verified credentials (Google, Amazon, Walmart, Microsoft, etc.)
My theory is that these companies want identity verification to prevent swarms of bot farms from clogging up their servers. Up until this point, the drawbacks of identity verification outweighed the positives.
Technically, Mary concieved a child with the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is the Holy Spirit who is God.
