  • But while every state applied for money from the Rural Health Transformation Program, it won’t be distributed equally. And critics worry that the funding might be pulled back if a state’s policies don’t match up with the administration’s.

    Yeah, no kidding.

This is how “governance” is done under the worst people.

So much for state’s rights. The blue states get to FUND nearly all of this, but then they get their policies dictated to them by the people that put dickheads like Taco into position in the first place.

    What a clusterfuck.

  • Not too long ago.

But when you set up things like AdGuard at home, you’ll quickly see that most people are probably not nearly paranoid enough. I work in IT, and even others in IT that should in theory know better think I’m being too paranoid to use various protections when using the 'net.

I don’t even have that many IoT devices in my house or enshittified products like Alexa, etc…and something like 20+% of DNS queries are blocked in my house…

I have Samsung in my house and of course they were known for being the worst/earliest offender when it came to “smart TVs”, but they are hardly the only one. Certainly you can do a lot to block them, but I am quite sure most people never even bother.

  • Not doing so is a journalistic and moral failure of the highest order and I’m tired of pretending this is what “journalistic integrity” looks like.

Well, look at how terrible they were about vetting Donvict prior to/during his first run. Most Americans knew about Donvict from his stupid game show and the “liberal media” did nearly nothing at all to disabuse them of that notion.

And pretending that the racist nutbars that were screaming about how the “liberal media” didn’t properly “vet” Obama (meaning, how did the Blah guy even win??!!!) had some kind of valid complaint, meaning bothsidering racist dipshits and claiming that anyone showing concern about the mobbed-up, washed-up total failson were just being alarmists, etc.

They’ve been terrible at how to deal with Donvict and his mobbed up apparatchiks for at least a decade now.

  • I do wonder how many of those we may be seeing…

If Republicans and centrists and some so-called leftists and liberals clutch their pearls over it - first of all, FUCK THEM. But, secondly, remind them that the conservatives are the ones that raised the flags for Donvict’s inauguration even though Carter was being remembered by having flags at half-mast just prior.

This is the party that lowered flags for that POS of Charlie Kirk. Some people just don’t deserve this honor.

  • So, what’s her next move, then? It’s not like she’s going to move to the left.

I assume she’s going to bide her time, wait until Taco flames out/passes away, and then, when there is a huge influx of “sudden independents” that never heard of this Taco guy and/or the Republican Party, that’s when she starts mounting some new astroturfed bullshit like the teabagger scam. It’s weird how all those teabaggers (later, renamed “Tea Party”) voted Republican, LOL, and the corporate media pretended to be baffled by this newfound “movement” that was just an obviously astroturfed Republican thing and you could discover this bit of information with about 30 seconds of looking into it.

Or, she’ll just bide her time and find some way to get on the Wingnut Welfare circuit - see Regnery, Heritage, Coors, Koch, ALEC, (or, these days, just get the money from Russia) etc…there is just huge gobs of cash to be made for people with no morals or principles to be handed by such nefarious groups.

The conservatives are always projecting about “Soros”, but the reality is that there is nothing like this apparatus on the left…

  • Of course it won’t happen until MAGA is dead.

Which will be never. Since “maga” == conservative, and it’s not like these people are not creating new converts all the time, most especially among the very young and impressionable.

I’ve seen a lot of ink spilled about the gerontocracy, as if that’s the source of our troubles. I see that “JD” “Vance” is a young 41 years old. As a for instance. Almost half the age of Taco. Taco being 79 is not the problem. Mitch McConnell, same thing. Or any other politician you care to point at that is at or over 80 or whatever people think is the cutoff. As long as conservatism keeps propagating itself, having even 20-something year olds in office is not going to fix jack shit.

I’m all for (former) Republicans and conservatives being made to atone for their sins before being welcomed back to polite society, though.
