Basically, the interface, or the almost lack of it. You use Discord on a PC or mobile and the experience is pretty much the same. On Zulip this does not happens. It’s a totally different experience with several things lacking, like the folder organization, for instance.

I’ve been using this for a while and so far so good. They are Europe, Switzerland, based and while their user protection laws is not perfect, is way better than anything US hosted.
With all that is happening around the world, I lost the ability to recognize when someone is being ironic or not. So I’m going to assume this is a genuine question, otherwise I wouldn’t engage in a discussion.
Yes, I do actually know a lot who doesn’t. On the top of my head I remember Brazil. There, the normal way of saying is what can be roughly translated to “Unitedstater”
Another example is France. There you might hear both terms normally.
