2·7 days agoYeah as far as I was able to find out even closed loop systems have to be regularly bleed out to control mineral buildup. People argue about closed loop systems as it’s some kind of perpetum moblie you fill it up and it lasts forever which is not true, that’s why they don’t use coolants either because none of that lasts forever, they’re just saving a lot of money by being able to dump toxic wastewater without immediate ecological disaster

Technology@lemmy.world•Amazon data centers used 2.5bn gallons of water in 2025English
261·7 days agoAFAIK most datacenters use evaporative cooling so water simply evaporate and system has to be filled up again, other systems that are dumping water have issue with all kind of additives like anti corrosion, residual etc and water shouldn’t be just dumped but go through wastewater treatment

Europe@feddit.org•Polish parliament approves bill banning streaming of illegal, abusive and degrading actsEnglish
1·8 days agoI can use this stupid logic against any law. Let’s remove rape law because someone women will abuse it to get insurance claims or put men to prison, let me bully and assault people on the streets because i should be able to have freedom of speach and expression, let me walk naked on the streets if I want to express myself this way why I can’t? Women abuse it to walk with half breasts out so why I can’t walk with my balls out? If you still don’t understand this removed reasoning then someone else have to explain it to you

Europe@feddit.org•Polish parliament approves bill banning streaming of illegal, abusive and degrading actsEnglish
2·8 days agoThat’s exactly what far right politicians who voted against it used as argument, people should be able to stream how they abuse and humiliate themselves / others because of “freedom of speach and freedom of expression” so once again applying your removed logic we abolish freedom of speach laws because bad guys trying to abuse it,you could literally apply this nonsense to every single law we have, so yeah your entire argument is just backwards and removed.

13·8 days agoThat’s literally why we have laws, taking your removed argument that’s why we have laws protecting LGBTQ, other minorities, and human rights in general. According to you we should just abolish laws just in cases someone wants to abuse it, wow what a brilliant idea, you solved humanity

24·8 days agoCourt decide it, who else supposed to? It seems you’re one of freedom fighters like Elon Musk who then use it to interfere with elections and spread his nazi ideas and if you don’t let him he’ll say that’s against freedom of speach

13·8 days agoBy that measure we shouldn’t have any laws because someone may interpret it differently, that’s why internet became cesspit it is filled with bots, misinformation and AI generated garbage. All in name of “freedom of speach”

Europe@feddit.org•Europe lost Nokia. Finland doesn't want to lose AIEnglish
2·9 days agoSo what you call “AI” these days?
“Think about how dependent we’ll be on the large AI providers in a few years’ time, when most of our processes will be at least partially run by AI,” he told attendees of last week’s INNOVA summit at Aalto University in Espoo. “If somebody can influence us by a ‘kill switch’, that’s a problem.”
Article doesn’t say anything about data science at all, all it says is europe should rely on US when it comes to AI(LLMs) and quantum is one way to split from AI race but quantum and AI are 2 totally different things since quantum does not develop anything remotely close resembling AI

The legislation is intended to clamp down on what is known in Poland as patostreaming (a portmanteau of “pathological” and “streaming”), meaning livestreams in which hosts engage in shocking – and often dangerous and illegal – behaviour.

4·13 days agoThat’s just loads of assumptions, just because they opened all chapters doesn’t mean anything, it took Montenegro 14 years to close those 33 out of 35 chapters yet you speculate Albania could somehow go through all those reforms within a year, that’s definitely not happening.
