I wish an action like this would actually change things in the US, but it wouldn’t.

The American people would continue to suffer and die–the most vulnerable and already marginalized first. Conservatives will get more hostile toward everyone else because of scarcity. They’ll start shooting people at Wal-Mart over bread.

The rich will just white-knuckle grip their off shore bank accounts and move elsewhere.

It’s so bizarre seeing people capitulate to toddler tantrums. We’re all being held hostage by an ipad kid.

This specific child was being neglected at home. He clearly felt that school was the only place he could exert control without being hit for it.

My stance on this is that it depends on your “lifestyle”.

If the amount of land that you own is excessive in comparison and your lifestyle is dependent on others having less, then it is not cruel to reduce your land.

It is cruel for you to keep it.

So I’m not super into philosophers and all that. It mostly goes over my head.

However, I am personally opposed to private property, while I support and defend the right to personal property.

Personal property is anything that you personally and directly use. This is the bread in your scenario, the house you live in, the land under your house, the clothes you wear, the car you drive.

Private property is anything you do not directly use, especially things that are used by others that you charge a fee for or make capital from. This is things like a rental home, leased land under a mobile home someone else owns, your local Wal-Mart, a car factory, etc.

Any appeal to nature that goes against those things for me is just self-serving hand waving. The “nature of man” is irrelevant given our astounding skills and abilities to shape our minds, cultures, and world beyond it’s “natural” state.

It’s crazy that I’m kinda hoping for a civil war, at this point. I don’t see any way out of this that isn’t an armed conflict.

I didn’t come here until I was a teen and I was deposited into a state that is pretty hostile to everything that I am. My wife came to the US when she was 17 and its been a struggle for her since day 1.

I am so beyond exhausted.

That’s the thing. Find me one nation that is anti-LGBTQ+ and doesn’t have other oppressive policies. Maybe rethink your fucking stance if it’s only supported by dictators, theocrats, and fascists.

She’s a “business owner” and likely thought she was building her way up to the ruling class while underpaying her immigrant workers. She never thought shit would touch her.

Funny how, as a trans person, I’m always terrified in bathrooms and she voted to basically have me killed.

She only knows an ounce of the fear LGBTQ+ people live under.

Man, I wish that, just once, I could get the day I voted for. Last time that happened was when gay marriage was legalized. Marrying my wife was the happiest moment of my life.

We’ve been in a cold civil war for years now. It’s just getting hotter and hotter.

I’ve been to marches that were literally planned by children afraid of their futures and boomer men showed up with guns to scare them.

I seriously cannot picture this happening. More of Trump’s dementia addled Twitter rambling. Even the puppets pulling his strings wouldn’t want this.

I mean, crazier shit has happened, but I see the US going full Handmaid’s Tale long before I see them invading a self-governed nation full of almost exclusively white people.

My money would be on Russia making that play before the US.

Just took a look at Costa Rica’s residency requirements:

• Pensionado (Retiree): $1,000+/month pension.
• Rentista (Fixed Income): $2,500+/month from investments/business.
• Investor: $150,000+ investment in real estate, stocks, etc.
• Nómada Digital (Digital Nomad): $3,000+/month income from foreign sources.

Sigh…

I do think “digital nomad” options are fairly new for a number of countries and that may be my best bet. My field doesn’t really have virtual jobs, but my wife’s does.
