It’s what drove me to wrestling torrents, The WWE network was great, it had chapters, and the stuff was easy to find, then they sold it off to Peacock and stuff is hard to find, they have no chapters, they censored some of the old controversial stuff, it’s just a lesser experience than the old Network. When it comes to Google, even if you pay them you are still the product, YouTube Premium might stop the ads on YouTube but it doesn’t stop the data collection for other Google products and partners.
WB Discovery is still getting their cut from Westworld, Raised by Wolves, and a dozen or so others by licensing it out to The Roku Channel streaming service of all things. So those actors went from getting scraps from HBO Max to probably next to nothing from Roku. I don’t know if that’s worse than having the content completely removed or not considering Roku is like Pluto TV and airs things more like cable.
Is Wired out here taking stories from YouTubers? I swear Linus Tech Tips covered this entire thing months ago, saying basically to stick to Fire, Onn or Chromecast devices.
I only have played Fortnite because my nephew was big into it for a long time, now that he and his friends are in high school they have quit playing, I don’t know if that’s a big trend, but he tells me it is just not cool to play anymore.
The giant BR is likely Fortnite, the Battle Royale part that is the game most people know wasn’t supposed to be the big deal, what is now Save The World was supposed to be the game and BR was just going to be tacked on.
The search function is nice and really appreciated. But, from my experience, the biggest problem with Mastodon is how much work you have to put into curating a feed, something traditional social media has done some of the work for you. I mean it’s fairly simple once you get the hang of it, but a lot of people are used to having their hand held.
Also, I’m not looking to piss people off, but I think in terms of the users on the platform it is extremely progressive, and non-progressive people will be less likely to engage with that.

Their preferred method of logging into your own home server by going through their website should really give you pause when reading about how anti-piracy organizations pressure them.

I don’t think Red is putting his foot too far into Hyde’s ass, he wrote a letter in support of his character to I can only assume was trying for a more lenient sentence.
I don’t see any way they could, or more likely would, rule against him without one of the cases against him ending with a guilty verdict.
I bring this up all the time, especially with Menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars being in the news recently because the FDA missed its own deadline for banning them. They specifically mention the flavor bans are because children like flavors, WTF, you gonna ban a coughdrop-tasting cigarette but still sell me Cotton Candy Vodka? How fucking hypocritical.
You thought it was going downhill before, but now that it will need to answer to money men, who want profits at all costs, it’s going to be sterilized eventually, piracy and porn are on borrowed time in my opinion.
