Reagan’s political speech strawman of the black woman “welfare queen” was so memorable, it became a caricature of black women and black single mothers. Most people who recognize that stereotype have never listened to a word of Reagan’s speeches. For his campaign and the ones before and after, the Republican Party launched ads showing a black man’s mugshot and telling a tale of how this black man was let out due to Democrat rehabilitative prison policy, then went on to kill/rape white people.

The entire War on Drugs was a way to harass and suppress Civil Rights protestors (accused of storing heroin) and the anti-Vietnam War movement (for marijuana).

The Bush dynasty’s core policy was ripping aid from USAmericans in need and using it to terrorize the Middle East; and to strip privacy away from folks in the USA… oh and terrorizing people of color.

And let’s not forget the original Conservative insurrection in the USA - the Confederacy, who broke ranks over fears they might one day not be able to enslave black people. Did Trump Kill Conservatism? No more than a house is killed when its moldy ceiling crashes in on its rotten floor.

I think sometimes in an effort to mock MAGA, we may over-legitimize doctors. They’re just people, just like us, and there is a looooong history of medical malpractice and systemic abuse—much by the same forces MAGA is allied with.

The autism “excuse” for Musk’s actions is insane because 1) whatever the condition, our leaders shouldn’t be acting like this; and 2) this has nothing to do with symptoms of autism. Okay, some autistic people are repulsed by some foods or sensory stimulation; default to “safe foods” they are comfortable with… and so autistic people wouldn’t go to a sushi restaurant if they don’t like sushi. Like… clearly Saxon is not too high-needs as to be unable to reason. He is a businessman.

I figured Saxon was the kid Musk had on his shoulders in the White House so my first response was a defensive “don’t berate the kid, he’s only copying his parents-” Then I looked up Saxon Musk. He’s 20 years old. 20; but you’d never guess it from this description of his actions.

C’mon… Our figurehead is dumber than a bag of rocks. Our leaders are average intelligence and also sadists who want to terrorize the USA population into death (for the techbros/fintech) and Christo-fascism (for the Heritage Foundation).

USAmerica - you are going to have a population of fundamentally broken people after this. High schoolers watched their friends disappear. Children in daycare saw their teachers dragged out. Relatives and neighbors were dragged out of their homes. Stores were raided. People are dead; And lives will forever be changed.

This chaos creates trauma, resentment, distrust, hatred. Because in the end – we let it happen. The people of this nation let this terror happen. We let tens of thousands be massacred. We let our stores and community homes be raided.

And it was done through our core infrastructure. The people were trafficked through federal agencies. Our three branches of government worked together to make this happen. Our corporations and their technology let this happen. Google. Amazon. Microsoft. Apple. They all have had a role. Our neighbors voted for this, cheered for this.

If the next candidate—be it Democrat or Republican—wants to close the book on all this and broadcast platitudes of Democracy and Compassion… whatever candidate(s) those are, I hope they fail.

haha I paused a bit as I wrote that, too; but yeah. W Bush was stupid, a bad public speaker, and a warmonger… but he knew when to listen to his advisors.

I’ve absolutely seen tons of astroturfed messaging saying “Let’s all wait for the midterms” since about when Trump took office. It has been the predominant message across so-called liberal media and so-called liberal groups. I have not heard that idea by anyone IRL. I have seen that message online stated many political accounts which popped up around January 2025 and caught the algorithm while everyone in the USA was rightfully freaking out about Elon’s Nazi salute, DOGE’s ransacking, and Trump’s absurd nominations.

This might have been the case under sane-but-horrible leaders like George W. Bush, Mike Pence, and the last Democrats, but I think this outcome is improbable as 1) that international united refusal didn’t happen when George W. Bush waged war over lies in the Middle East; 2) This administration is composed of hyped-up christo-fascists and their sycophants, and is goaded by oligarchs who want the destruction of the USA so they can buy up what remains.

The bible also says it’s just to stomp in the heads of your enemies’ infants, as long as sky-daddy tells you so as a voice in your head :)

It doesn’t even need to have fake views. Content tagged with rising extremist views will naturally foster higher engagement—some of it from the absurdity; some of it from the growing group of people who believe it. Andrew Tate was a large part of promoting violent misogyny and patriarchy. The views never changed; they just became far more familiar.

“When trump dies” is just the liberal rapture. Trump is the symptom, not the disease. Of course Vance is weird and uncharismatic to us, but Trump talks like a moron and his supporters eat it up.

It’s not about quality. Most people use content just to fill a void. Look outside at the people around you. Just about everyone is looking at their phones on rides, listening to podcasts when walking. It’s just filler.

The alt-right took over the social sphere just by taking up space. All the manosphere/trad-life/christo-fascist/slopaganda crap flooded the internet, and then it became the norm—not because it was convincing, but because it was recognizable. People parrot what they hear; And that’s especially true for the majority of unintelligent folks who wish to masquerade as intelligent. It just so happens the masses heard a lot of “women/people of color/queers are destroying our great white Christian society”.

There’s nothing about this that’s inherent to bigotry or conservative ideology; It’s just that USA conservative-aligned businessfolk bought up the outlets and skewed the scene a little bit in the favor of alt-right ideology. Over years that compounded, and now it’s seized the entire conversation. Perhaps lefties/liberals were hesitant to use those methods because they play to emotions, and not intelligence; But this is the reality of our current social sphere.
