It was something clashing a bit with the uses of oppression of the religion but not mocking or ridicularized for being religious, and there is other one saying that is not our job to take religion out of people, that movement comes from the people if they see they do not need that belief anymore or if they come to see that they are being oppressed by religion, at any rate there is no rejection of religious people and it is quite clearly implied that a considerable number of the revolutionary force will be religious. So I will say there is a direction away from relegion on Marxism, there is no denying that, but from that should follow the rejection of a religious person, if your beliefs do not clash with revolution, and you do not preach during the actions of your organization, you can be at peace and keep your beliefs for as long as you see fit, your actions and your dedication for revolution is what matters

Those people that claim you cannot be religious and communist are missing the point and if you think about it reasonably kinda dooming the revolution in the global south, which is overwhelmingly religious, if you read the selected works of Mao in his speeches he would mobilize the religious beliefs of people, in a questioning manner but not as to attack the people but to challenge some parts of it, but that in itself shows that the people following Mao were religios at least part of them, and that was not a problem in itself, the exploitation that organized religion enacts on people is, so if your faith helps you go through life, and if you have your heart and mind in the idea of changing the world to one where there is si much less senseless suffering of people, my friend any Communist organization worth their salt would be lucky to have you, be a friend of the people and you’ll be a good Communist. Just some last points that i think are somewhat obvious for you but I would avoid using religious arguments into the agitation and propaganda campaigns if you end up on such tasks of an organization, even when talking to people that share your faith, once it might give the idea that the organization has religous bases or encourages religiosity, which I don’t think is usually the case, even if an organization has no problem with members being religious(which I think is the correct position) it wont be something reccomended

I’d point out the accessibility of food in particular, from under the non constraints, and add from another side, beating the Nazis in the great patriotic war aka WWII

My understanding is that it is impossible to tell right now, it would heavily depend on the revolutionary process of each country, the path to socialism is less of a recipe more of an improvisation like in jazz, you need to know the scales work well with your companions but what comes next is heavily dependent on what is going on right now, it’s really hard to have a one size fits all plan. Even in some quite basic stuff Lenin believed that revolutions would always start with the urban proletariat, while in China came from the farmers, because reality there was very different, and the world we live now is much more different from revolutionary China than revolutionary China was from revolutionary Russia, so the shape of a current time revolution ia expected to be different and to require modern adaptations of theory. Not yo say that the theory is obsolete, as some do its core its invaluable, but it needs to be adapted to the reality of each place

Yeah Brazil is ruled by a guy that cares about the people but does not dare to stand strong against the bankers and the big farms, so it did a lot of questionable choices in order to appease them, not what I’d call a bad guy but someone not willing to fight, it’s not out of cowardice either the guy faced jail when people plotted against him, he just avoids conflict and that leads to that meme of meeting in the middle with the right

Ever is a very long time so hard to tell, but given the difficulties of forming and maintaining a communist party inside most countries, be them Arab or not, I have a hard time seeing this happening in the absence of a very impactful event that empowers some communist organizations in the region, and to be fair impactful things are happening quite frequently lately so who knows, but the current tendency as I see it, and I’m quite far from a geo politics specialist, much less specifically of the Arab region, I think the tendency is not leading to that direction

In my mind thinking about it like this is a mistake, when a revolution will happen is in many ways unpredictable, but if there is no group working for it, pouring their heart and soul to make it more likely day by day, it is impossible, so we should work for it as hard as we can without much concern for when will it happen we need to work to make the if it will happen a certainty

Yeah I think we are in agreement comrade, I just like to point out this things when I see a post on the subject because I’ve seen far too much people associate any attempt of improving the now (from the part of any socialist individual or organization) with a commitment with a inherently reformist agenda, so I like to leave the more expanded idea when I see a short communication about it, just to promote the broader vision a little

Easy there it’s not correct to say it is nothing but a distraction, if you make it the focus of your project for sure, but however possible we should try to make the changes possible that would help the working class, but of course that does not mean to adhere to their program but it is important to look at what improvements can be achieved. But never celebrating these folks as heroes or celebrating as a magnificent win it is a small comfort but far from the cure, and can distract, but can bring about some degree of help, the important part is to know that however much help that is, it’s always woefully insufficient. But help should never be discarded completely, even if ultimately in many cases we refuse the instances of incrementalism it’s important to know that it comes with a cost, because much of the people who would benefit a little right now, cannot see the possibility of a revolution ever working, but they want some improvement, in such case being against incrementalism can have a very significant impact on gathering support of who we most need on our side.

The answer I arrived at after much thought and trial and error is kinda you don’t. The framing of recruiting as I see it is not that effective, the way to do it is to be close to the masses, and help people, preferably in an organized fashion, with no strings attached, and along with the help you talk to people even some people with quite different views from yours and listen to them and have conversations, like about hobbies about their work about family stuff, establish a relationship of respect with people, once you get that they’ll listen to you when you talk about why things are the way they are, and the idea is to give people the tools to judge their own reality, and if your organization is doing things well the natural consequence is that some people will join. But if you lead with the dump of information uprooting their worldview and often antagonizing the views of people who they respect or love, you will almost always be seen as a raving lunatic because for that person’s life and social relations it’s a lot easier to ignore you and keep their old views, so to change that you gotta be part of the person’s life, be the friend of the people, operative word, FRIEND

Edit 1: and when I said to help the people I mean things like what VaqueroRed said about social movements or even what you say about material help, those are very good mechanisms

I like things with heavy grind, like borderlands, or any diablo like game (such as torchlight, path of exile, or last epoch), MMOs are a good call, and Minecraft and Terraria, or any other sandbox or open world game are good calls, only in open world games you might need to pause the podcast if you intend on doing main quests (assuming you are playing for the first time, or interested in following the story again)
