- Humour, like comics and memes.
- Literature, I’m sure there are communities around genres, authors, book series…
Korean pork BBQ This is a pretty spicy dish that’s not too hard to make. I usually end up substituting a couple ingredients but it always come out nicely.
Tuscan Chicken Not exactly spicy, but it’s such a flavourful dish that I just have to recommend it. A huge amount of sun-dried tomatoes gives this dish a distinctive taste. I usually add whatever vegetables I feel like and it always come out great.
Going to work on my thesis on Saturday, but I should have some time between experiments to practice some soldering for my personal projects. Board games and video games on Sunday, been a long week need to unwind
I was honestly hoping that they had added something later in game that makes it no longer instant death… So that isn’t happening then?
At least I have the sequel to look forward to
Blasphemous, a 2D Metroidvania game with a very distinctive art style.
So far loving the world design and level design, it reminds me strongly of Dark Souls, without feeling like a clone in any way. I do unfortunately suck at platforming, and this game is so far not forgiving about it…
That game is awesome! I loved the tutorial book system so much.
I can’t say why but this owl photo
Ah sorry, English is not my native language. I meant that he will love them. Getting the first one printed right now. Thanks!
This is wonderful! My bf would love them so much.
Somewhere between 60-100, and it’s only this small because my main gaming platforms are PS4 and Nintendo switch.
Excitedly waiting for the audiobook of dungeon crawler carl book 6 to become available
It’s a couple hours by car from where I live, so I’m probably too lazy to go…
Had a busy week. The two of us played two scenarios of Gloomhaven JotL. I changed from my initial tank character to Voidwarden, who’s got a buff/debuff and action granting/manipulation mechanic. She’s a lot more fun for me and I feel like she works a little better with my partner’s ranged character also. The last scenario was so close, we were 1 and 0 turns away from exhaustion when we won. Funnily enough we both got squeezed into a corner and surrounded by the boss’s summons so the boss couldn’t get to us.
Was really hoping to be able to play more of Aeon’s End but alas, the weekend went by really fast. Going to get an expansion for it next time I go to the shop.
We also tried out Bread & Fred, a video game of two penguins connected by a rope climbing a mountain. I was hoping it would be hard and rewarding like Celeste, but it was mostly fun and frustrating due to us constantly jumping at the wrong time and falling off… Would definitely recommend assist mode checkpoints if anyone else wants to try. It was a bit weird that they only supported the same input type for both, would have liked to use controller and let my SO use keyboard.
Malazan probably. So many people love it, and it looked like something I’d like, I even had a friend also reading it with me. I wanted to like it so much. After one and half books, I realized I couldn’t care less about what happened to any of the characters and I didn’t understand anything about the magic stuff, so I stopped reading.
Just started listening to Respawn by Arthur Stone because my SO wanted me to try it. Haven’t made up my mind about it yet.
Need to remember to read Frankenstein, which a friend lent to me. It’s a good book but I keep forgetting to actually read, since I mostly do audiobooks.
Really looking forward to Dungeon Crawler Carl book 6 which will come out in September I think.
If someone can recommend me a book where magic is used and studied/understood like science that would be great. I really enjoyed most of Lightbringer, Codex Alera and a lot of Brandon Sanderson’s books and I’d like to read more of this type.
The Reckoner by Brandon Sanderson. Not a lot of people like the series, but I always loved it, and it seemed that so many scenes were written with a visual medium in mind already, and exaggerated in a way that would work well in an animation, not in a Live-Action production.
I have never been good at platforming, almost gave up on getting into the main city. Luckily my partner has the skills and patience to do those pure difficult platforming challenges for me, so I managed to complete the game. Same thing with Blasphemous actually. Gorgeous game, platforming way too difficult for me.
Even he couldn’t do white palace, and I doubt I’m good enough to beat the true final boss, so I never got the good ending.
