  • This is less of an indication that Trump is losing sway with Republicans, and more of an indication that Trump isn’t the God King they hoped he would be by now.

In their ideal world, elections are suspected and they don’t face backlash for his awful policies. They are seeing that is unlikely to happen, trump doesn’t have the juice they hoped he would. As a result, we’ve seen a major swing in every special election, districts that were historically safe are now tossups.

Everyone knew Trump’s policies were going to be unpopular, they just thought he would consolidate enough power by now for it not to matter.

    I think it’s a combination of a few things.

There are a lot of people who still have the mentality that ADHD is over diagnosed and is bullshit. That’s a carry over from my childhood for sure. I see so many millennials still quote boomers complaining about ADHD these days.

Secondly, the current short form social media is decaying everyone’s attention spans. As a result of this many people who may not have ADHD have some symptoms from damaging their attention span.

ADHD is likely more common than we give it credit for due to a lot of negative connotations to diagnosis, even today.

With all of that said. I am not a doctor, nor an expert. So take this with a grain of salt.

Edit: additionally, my doctor and much of what I have read said. A diagnosis is less important than understanding your strengths and weaknesses, how it impacts you and how you can build systems to remain effective in the areas you want to. So it matters less if you have ADHD or not, and matters more how you respond to the individual behaviors that lead you to believe you have it, and how you mitigate them. They did said, a diagnosis is most important if you are looking to medicate. That’s the important conversation with your doctor.

  • I enjoy the exploration and vibe of the game. Have a ton of hours on it, but I am always left wanting more end game. This is likely a situation where the game doesn’t want to offer what I am looking for, and that’s okay.

I play once a year, or so, to catch up on the updates and have a ton of fun every time.

    Edit: welcome to Lemmy.

Someone with a PHD isn’t inherently more intelligent than other humans. They are able to put in the time and effort to become a subject matter expert in a field.

I get that it’s all buzz, but they simply don’t understand human intelligence, how can they even dream to replicate it. AGI is a myth.

My wife is currently writing her dissertation. So no shade to PHDs.

  • AOC talks a lot about how there is also a non-zero overlap between people who voted for her and trump in 2024.

I think a large part of it is that people are sick of the status quo. Trump, Mamdani and AOC all speak out against the status quo. The problem is trump is a lying, fascist, racist, pedo. It says though, the best way to peel voters from the right isn’t to court Liz Cheney, it’s to provide legitimate solutions to peoples problems and push back against the status quo.
