RAFFWU members working at Coles and Woolworths will be striking on Saturday 7 October between 10 AM and 12 noon. Their demands are living wages, safer workplaces & secure jobs.

If you would like to show solidarity with these workers, you might consider avoiding Coles and Woolworths at that time.

I am pained to report that a cooker party will be occurring late this afternoon in the vicinity of Parliament House. It sounds like booze and music will be involved. God help us.

Dear new premier, legal weed please. The fact it’s illegal is basically a formality at this point. Give the cops something else to spend their $4.13 billion funding on.

There are no voting places within the Melbourne CBD for the upcoming referendum.

Did we have a cool change at 11 AM? Strange.

Oh for sure, the size of the No vote in Victoria and especially inner Melbourne will be quite small just based on demographics, voting patterns and reports from pollsters.

Having a look at the cooker rally pages and communities to get an idea of how big the “No to the voice” rally today will be. I don’t think it’ll be big but it will still be very disruptive to trams along Bourke, Swanston, Flinders, Elizabeth. There are speeches planned under the clocks at Flinders St Station.

I wonder if they can stick to the main subject matter instead of pro Trump, anti wind farm, anti vaccine, anti 15 minute cities, anti UN and WEF, and more… They seem to be quite unhappy that there will be politicians that don’t want them talking about the conspiracy stuff in the Sydney rally, too.

They might be near PAX if there happens to be early voting taking place at the MCEC. But it would be illegal for them to interfere with the voting process… so in theory any shenanigans would be shut down quickly.

Please be forewarned that the cooker rally is occurring this Saturday (as usual) but on the theme of “NO TO THE VOICE” (not usual).

It is possible that the rally will be bigger than the tiny handful of folks it had dwindled to, particularly because this weekend will be seen as a response to the Walk for Yes. It will interrupt various tram lines in the city from late morning through to late afternoon. Plan accordingly.

I’ve purchased something like this at Daiso in the past. I haven’t specifically seen one lately though.
