Doesn’t really matter. The important bit is he has no idea either. (It’s likely the former and he’s blaming the weirdos trying to get in)

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is Jury Nullification a Thing, But You Can’t Talk About It in Court?
303·1 year agoThis is a much better answer than the current top post.
He’s not asking because he understands great circles or is suddenly curious about planes. He’s “just asking questions”, specifically on a public forum to drum up disinformation and anti-science rhetoric. He’s essentially giving a shout-out to his conservative skeptic gang that if powerful rich people question science and common knowledge, they should keep doing it too

Redraw the path nearest to the red line but avoid the areas marked in green and you have your answer. Arizona is at a pretty high elevation and the rockies stretch from new mexico through colorado onwards, so they probably fly around the other way under the Rockies.
Edit: i think his question is still disingenuous

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canadians list cannabis legalization as Trudeau’s crowning success
1·1 year agoI feel he was well intended and just naive. When he finally made it, he quickly realized he wouldn’t stay PM for long if he did, not only because the people in power wouldn’t let him if he was to push another voting system, but that his party probably wouldn’t win another election ever. (Ending the conservative/liberal back and forth forever).
I think he could have done it and started a strong/young party, fully embrace the change albeit taking a chance people wouldn’t vote for him. But he’s a traditional political boy.
After the french revolution, the people who took over did the same exact thing as before, and abused their power. When Lenin finally took over and gave Russians free elections, they didnt vote for him. He said fuck them and took power anyway. It do be like that for these types.
Sure, youre the owner of walmart though, with regulations.
And then you call next door to find a hitman to get rid of some of your problems, and get caught trying to murder people with money.
“Sir I did not bring in tons of cocaine across the border, I only drove a boat”. Is essentially your argument.
Now I’m not against what the silk road was initially supposed to be, but this guy took it to a whole new level of fucked.
He has been for a while now, which is actually a violation of the US’ nato obligations. But who care anymore, the US is no longer an ally.
Edit: it also violates a ton of border treaties, and half a doze international agreements the US has benefited from for a long time. But just with NATO
Key points of the treaty
- The parties agree to settle disputes peacefully
- The parties agree to refrain from using force in a way that goes against the United Nations’ goals
- The parties agree to consider an attack on one of them as an attack on all of them
- The parties agree to consult about threats and defense matters
- The parties agree to safeguard the freedom, common heritage, and civilization of their peoples
- The parties agree to promote stability and well-being in the North Atlantic area
Threatening Canada violates all of these and then some.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How would you explain to a date that you have an abusive family and you're the only sane person?
1·1 year agoThat’s the neat part, you dont.
You can’t teach/explain everything. Small warnings and you can talk about it when it happens, when they understand. You shouldn’t need to prove they’re crazy or that you’re sane. Most people who do aren’t.

Martial law remained in effect until it was officially lifted on January 11, 1990. They stayed there and kept harassing people. They didnt leave the city, these tanks were not going home and tankman wasn’t trying to keep them there. His source doesn’t even say what he says it says.
