6·2 months agoIt may be waiting to enshittify, but as it is still DRM free, that’s not a huge deal breaker (as long as they don’t change this policy). Plus, they’re still doing Bandcamp fridays, so it’s still the best way to financially support a musician at the moment.

United Kingdom@feddit.uk•X could be banned in UK amid sexualised AI images concernsEnglish
11·3 months agoI want it banned. Then I want to see all the MPs who have continued to use it these past years figure out where they’re going to get their “engagement” from now.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Have Nvidia drivers on Linux gotten worse over later generations?
14·5 months agoThe drivers run OK, but because they were not built for my distribution with the right flag, when I sleep and resume my system, I need to log out and back in to the desktop or else it bugs out.
Is this the drivers fault for not having that be a default flag? The maintainers fault for not using the correct flags? Waylands fault for not interfacing with the driver right on resume? My fault for having the audacity to want to use the sleep function?
I have no clue, but it doesn’t happen with the open source nouevau drivers, so I’m inclined to place a fair bit of the blame with nvidia.

662·5 months agoSugars and additives are in nearly all foods, maybe we should stop asking manufacturers to disclose it on the ingredients list.
Going purely by the illustration, pass it to the next person because they have a track with no-one on it
it took me far too long to parse this sentence. I kept trying to figure out why the grandparents calling their grandson on the phone was relevant to the story

5·5 months agoI shifted my desktop this past month, happy to be part of the extra fractions of a % point.
Ubuntu 25.10 finally seems to have resolved a lot of the issues I’ve had in the past, so I think this shift will be permanent.

I love that “Lonely Mountains: Downhill” isn’t woke, even though it gives fine grained control over your characters design, like a “feminine” body with facial hair.

1·7 months ago“Envisioned as an important connecting vein that will one day see trains running from Helsinki, Finland, to Palermo, Sicily,”
Surely the important connecting vein here is a link to Finland, on the other side of Europe and across the sea from Italy, but then I’m not a rail engineer so what do I know.
