It implies something has to be tolerated because it is outside of the realm of the familiarity you would otherwise personally accept innately. Not bad, just an admission of the fallibility of personal experience at being completely objective at everything.
Intolerance adapts. Usually when that is the basis, they will be the one throwing the “you are intolerant, ergo we do not support you so we can sustain our tolerance” claims. Tolerance has to be able to at least identify what type of intolerance is being sanctioned, and to accept that it will always have some form of bias that will tag or not tag as intolerance that which different tolerance groups on the same “side” might.
