Where do you monitor the collapse of late stage capitalism on the internet
Can I see the evidence? inb4 you deflect and refuse to cite anything
So the evidence doesn’t exist yet, but you’ve decided the conclusion anyway. That’s exactly the problem I’m pointing out. This is what MAGA does btw
I’m glad we agree capitalism has problems
At least you’re honest about pushing a narrative rather than engaging with evidence
The civil war has a clearly dominant causal factor that historians overwhelmingly agree upon. Modern socio economic issues don’t have that same level of single cause consensus. That’s why boiling everything down to ‘capitalism’ is overly reductive
It feels really gaslighting/dismissive to read things like this. Why is it that people who talk about concepts like capitalism assume a bunch of information about you based on a complete lack of information? Is the idea the only reason I’m not anti capitalist must either be because a) I’m rich (extremely far from the truth), or b) I’m especially susceptible to propaganda? (Which would be weird… Otherwise why would I be using Lemmy in the first place when perhaps capitalism instead suggests I should be using Reddit).
My opinion: It kind of sucks to reduce people down like this lol. Am I insane for thinking this
It’s very convenient that the explanation for a complex series of problems is reducible to just ‘capitalism’. Isn’t it like saying WWI only started because of the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand?
All I said was gg 5 times
I’m very curious to know why you consider NATO a fascist organisation. I don’t mean to be facetious but I get the feeling you might have impossible standards.
Obviously that person doesn’t support fascism though. I don’t quite understand your criteria for labeling someone as a fascist or fascist supporter
Why are they pro fascist talking points? Is it a bad thing they’re NATO talking points? Do you actually think this person doesn’t oppose fascism?
Jesus. Under the Biden administration, we clearly saw at least occasional urges to limit civilian harm, pauses on weapon shipments, and promotion of humanitarian aid (For example, Biden’s pledge of $100m in humanitarian aid for Gaza and the West Bank). Furthermore, Biden also talked about his push for a two state solution. Do you wholeheartedly believe Trump’s 2020 Israel-Palestine plan is the same as Biden’s? That both would lead to the same amount of killing and destruction? Lastly, does everyone forget that while the Biden administration may have abstained from voting for the UN resolution ‘Assistance to Palestinian Refugees’, which includes the affirmation for Palestinian ‘Right of return’, the Trump administration has always voted against these resolutions. Trump is still adamant on denying Palestinian right of return. I haven’t even begun to talk about Trump’s cuts to UNRWA.
You were obviously getting genocide lite with Biden. Obviously, the democrats are much more reasonable than Trump. Have you seen anything Trump has been doing since he became president? Have you seen his handling of Ukraine? Do you really, truly believe both sides are the same? They’re not. You’re so full of rhetoric.
You push people away from Lemmy, the left, and the affirmation of Palestinian rights by being this unhinged by the way. I stated the obvious both sides are not the same, and the Palestinain’s would be better off with anyone but Trump as president. This doesn’t mean whatever you said in your reply to me lol. Please please please try to think about this critically
If I can’t have no genocide, I’d rather some genocide than more genocide. Is this really that controversial? It seems like an incredibly basic thought process. It seems the people who didn’t vote or voted third party actually voted for more genocide
From reading this entire thread I’m convinced you’re the only one actually against genocide lol. These people are making it so much worse by not voting democrats. I don’t see how the extra blood isn’t on their hands. It’s unbelievable you’re getting pushback

Shocking
