I read it as melting snow, not just getting it off the drive way. But just blasting the snow from your driveway onto to street won’t be a ton of help either since that still needs to get plowed.

I have a 20 year old VW Beetle with such severe electrical problems that makes basic functions like filling the gas tank and opening the trunk difficult. I’ll never buy a car that uses the same technology as the OceanGate Titan to perform basic features. At least I was able to pry the gas lid open. But I have no confidence that modern cars will be able to function with similar issues in 20 years. I’m fact, I’m positive that Ford will start dropping functionality from their apps in 6 years when people still have 2 years left on their car loans

My assumption is that Aussies have garages that they keep their cars in. The average home is drastically younger in Australia than in Europe. Plus the sun will absolutely destroy your car in tropical/sub-tropical/desert climates, and getting into a car that has been roasting in the 40C sun all day is honestly worse than getting in a car that’s been sitting in -10C overnight.

Pretty much every town around here has lead pipes that are becoming a serious problem. Couple that with the de-industrialization that happened in the 70s and 80s, so anyone with ability got out of here back then.

People here straight up hate renewable energy. They vote against wind turbines and solar whenever it’s on the ballot. These farmers are so deep into conspiracy theories that they go to local government meetings and say wind turbines cause brain cancer. It’s been that way around NW ohio for decades now

I wouldn’t say “useful” but the military industrial complex does at least employ actual people to create actual things, where as an AI data center just siphons off the resources of an area and creates no jobs. This is avoiding any moral judgement on weapons production, simply saying that the energy that goes into it is creating an actual product.
