Stupid question maybe, but would your backups even be safe? Sure, it was mentioned that you had to enter your sudo password, but let’s say you did that because you are careless, “rm -rf” would wipe all connected and mounted drives as well, so your backups would be gone, wouldn’t they? Or does Timeshift mount and unmount on demand? If so, what would happen if you ran “rm -rf” while a backup is being saved?! It seems to me that a simple “make backups” isn’t enough here.

Let’s say the 160k is a high estimate I think it’s safe to say there were around 100k people so ten times more than originally planned. It’s a huge win after the past few months and years where most protests in Germany were right wing protests.

imho the canvas was a bit too large for the userbase. Sure it’s cool that everyone got a spot but I liked the thrill of the “fights” every time two projects tried to occupy the same space. But I guess the “friendly nature” of canvas kind of reflects the current state of lemmy so it’s okay :)

Am I stupid or are the AMD requirements kinda off? 3080 on NVidia side but 7900 xtx on AMD side? Also a Ryzen 7 7800x for 1080p@60 with High settings?

Ein großer Punkt wird vermutlich sein, dass Jerboa (die offizielle Android App für Lemmy) nicht mit 0.17 Instanzen läuft. Oder auch die Probleme im All-Feed mit den nachladenden Posts.

0.18 hat das alles behoben, aber dann wiederrum viele andere Probleme mitgebracht und unter anderem Captchas rausgeschmissen, was Bot-Registrierungen Tür und Tor geöffnet hat. Deshalb wurde jetzt lange auf nen brauchbares 0.18er release gewartet, unabhängig davon, ob es ne RC ist oder nicht. Man wollte vermutlich nicht noch länger auf Jerboa support verzichten und den, am Desktop quasi unbenutzbaren All Feed hinnehmen.

Aber: Nimm das mit ner Prise Salz. Ich bin kann auch nur mutmaßen. :)

I appreciate the work you put into this, but please write better commit messages. It’s super unhelpful to write “updated file.xyz” in every commit message. Describe what you did. That way it’s way easier for people to help out because they can see what you did so they don’t waste time fixing the stuff you already fixed yourself.

My current favorites are gamecube games (Tony Hawk Games and 007 Nightfire) and Forza Horizon 5. Played quite a bit of minecraft aswell, but I find it hard to be efficient with a controller.
