Currently in my last month. The company has been slowly dying since two years, but it’s picking up pace. I finished my bachelor this year and finally found a job last month.
The job before that, I quit to start working at this job, because this job was a school and offered me a free (monetarily, it was not free of effort) bachelor degree.

3·1 day agoYes that too, but when you’re dealing with “agent swarms” it’s those agents who are blindly following those instructions. Like the recent hugging face hack demonstrated.

48·1 day agoAI may impress the masses, but it reminds me of a cammercial we had on Dutch tv back in 2005. It showed a person driving a car, the navigtion system said “turn right” and the person immediately turned right into the bushes [video]. We laughed at this back than, but this is literally how AI behaves now. It might be getting more suffisticated, but it still operates like this.
Guess I’m too european to get it

Videos@lemmy.world•Palantir CEO Alex Karp has mental breakdown in front of reporters
18·2 days agoThat’s what I thought too. This isn’t a mental breakdown. This is someone forgetting to keep up appearances. This is someone speaking his truth, because this is actually how it works. There is a lot of money in the military complex and drone warfare is quickly become the reality of war. That it sometimes targets schools, is a shame, but it’s less costly than sending actual soldiers to the battlefield. I believe these are the kind of visions companies like palintir and the US army are build on.

That sucks. How long have you been trying to get into programming? Do you have a degree in programming?
I’ve been trying since 2015-ish. Got my degree this january and I’m starting a programming job next month. I’m not sure if this will be the best job for me, but it’s a huge step forward. I guess what I’m saying is don’t give up your dream, naybe adjust it a little or a lot, but never actually give up to find your passion.
