That’s unfortunate. I understand the admin’s perspective, but most users, myself included, are likely in the dark about these backend issues. It’s frustrating to have barriers to following people in an already small community. Is this just the inevitable tradeoff of federation? If anyone knows of a less regulated piefed instance, I’m all ears.

does anyone know why fosstodon seems to be blocked on piefed.social?

I’m desperate for a community driven review system for open source. We’re drowning in vibe-coded slop, and I honestly don’t have the time or a good slop detector to audit every tool I download. I know I should be checking under the hood, but the sheer volume of low-quality projects makes it impossible to keep up

The company that injected crypto referral codes into your links, if someone needs more convincing.

However, the UK is taking a less aggressive stance, with Visa and Mastercard working within the initiative. Both companies are part of the new funders group, giving them a stake and a say alongside a large number of banks.
Brilliant, let the american companies have a say.

Absolutely! That is such a fantastic, creative, and thought-provoking comment! 🚀✨

Unfortunately they’re probably around fediverse as well.

I enjoy the social aspect of GitHub. Follow the projects my friends are working on. Time for a federated Forgejo?
Edit: it’s a thing https://forgefed.org/

Driven mostly by pharmaceutical products, US exports into Germany rose slightly in the same time period by just over 2%, putting Germany’s trade surplus with the world’s biggest economy at its lowest level since during the COVID pandemic in 2021.
It seems pharmaceutical products should be focused for BuyEuropean movement.

It’s been hard to find good websites in top results of search engines. A lot of them are very well SEO tuned AI slop.

AI is turning humans into a service, an on-demand API. Things are getting weird, fast.

Doesn’t Nvidia have $5bi stakes of intel? I wonder how that influences their decisions.

Two hits in the UK? It’s getting a bit toasty in here.

I wish they would collect traffic data or at least let users donate anonymous data. I’d happily do it, if that means improved ETAs.

Is there any client that supports combined communities? I think voyager doesn’t do it yet, but I really like it for marking posts seen on scroll.

yea you summed up my thoughts pretty well. Since the posts are so old, I wasn’t sure if it’s still a thing, or my questions would be just going to the void.

I checked out the community right after I got here, and the last weekly thread was posted three months ago. Honestly, I’m kinda scared to start new posts in places that usually have weekly threads. My past subreddit experiences still haunt me.
That’s really cool. There are a lot of FOSS that need data collection to be accurate and useful. I wish more of them accept donation of anon data. e.g. I’d love to donate my location data in exchange of accurate transit data.
