This just seperates it into a secondary profile but all apps in your main profile are already sandboxed as well the only apps that are not sandboxed are system apps such as Play services. But you could use the app in a work profile(shelter) under a seperate Google account that would add a bit more anonymity. But android default app sandbox could be more secure there are other custom ROMs that do just that making the regular app sandbox even more secure.

Glad I don’t use any Google services and no apps on graphene OS then for my main computers I run Fedora silverblue with no Google once again.

I use McDonalds App all the time on GOS this only affect you if you use Google Pay when checking out to my knowledge.

Odd I used it to install GTA: SA definitive edition purchased on the play store website then installed and updated via Aurora still works just updated it recently too.

Is it the pro or the tube shield the tube is 32 bit only and most apps and games have moved to 64 bit only so the pro would be needed but I can still install paid apps on aurora on my phone just fine.

It was a bonus my work did and I won it in a raffle.

I think it has more to do with Matrix is kinda becoming the standard for secure open source messaging server but I do agree with you I would just use what works for you personally.

The site is trash my DNS blocked all their garbage so that’s good.

This is what I do I self host pretty much most of my services.

So google play services on android along with Google store are installed in the root system the can basicly do whatever the want permission wise play services is always running in the background and is a huge battery drain by not having it installed at all you are gaining more battery life.

That is very true indeed but my battery lasts for 2 days though because of it so I’ll call that a win.

It was windows 7 but my install got screwed up Some how not sure how a freind gave me a Ubuntu USB and I didn’t want you try it I wanted to reinstall windows but didn’t have another windows computer at the time or acces to one. And I installed Ubuntu 8.Something and back then making a Windows USB wasnt easy like it is now on Linux and never got it working so I just embraced Linux glad I did prepared me for my Dev ops career.

It runs great just no steam for games because no arm64 support but runs really good.

I just self host Invidious and put it behind Authelia for SSO.

100% agree been using Linux for 15 years and will never stop plus once you learn everything there is to know about how Linux works if something breaks odds are you can fix it yourself or report it with logs faster if you contribute your self as well.

I would not say all some of us run Graphene OS with Google Play Services stripped from Android.
