Are they covered? After two seasons of pure endrot I bought a shabby little “greenhouse” to grow my tomatoes in. Fingers crossed for this year.

callcc@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•VERY simple web-based reliable file browser/hostingEnglish1·7 天前Don’t recommend using FTP. It’s a shitty old protocol that needs to die. Just use nginx or apache with directory listing enabled.
Since I’m old and need to deal with administrating a bunch of machines for work, I settled on the most dull and unsurprising distros of all: debian. Sure, when I was younger and eager to learn and with much time on my hands, I used gentoo (basically what is now arch) and all the others too.
callcc@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that apart from not having a car and voting, the single greatest thing you can do for the climate is simply eating less red meat.2·7 天前If you don’t consent to being born into this world right now, would that not mean that you should just kill yourself? I off course don’t mean to say that you should, but I’m curious why you have a drive to live, and thereby consuming precious resources that could benefit less defeatist people. Or would you have chosen differently if you had been asked when you were born.
I understand that we seem to be in a global situation where imminent doom is unavoidable but maybe you should ask older people or read up, because I think these things happen on a regular basis.
And no, I don’t want to downplay the consequences of the multiple clusterfuck of global catastrophes we’re heading into (since a long time). Maybe I’m just a hopeless optimist :).
I agree on the saddle height. It’s important to have it high enough so you can push efficiently.
About the tires, I don’t agree 100%. Higher pressure might give you slightly better rolling resistance but will give you way more vibrations and shocks which makes you tired in the long run. I can poste a page of a book explaining this better if you like. In general it’s important to have smooth tires (usually high thread cound and good quality rubber) for a low rolling resistance.
It’s a bad idea to release insects from unknown origin even if it’s a species that’s native. They can have significant genetic differences to the local populations to cause all sorts of problems.
Try attracting them instead by having flower meadows, etc.

It’s a text based interface toolkit that happens to also have a good text editor and IDE capability. Buuut, you need to spend a lot of time to set things up. I use it since probably more than 20 years and I still often need to look up and learn stuff. If you want a tool and not a workshop, get a simpler editor.
callcc@lemmy.worldto Buy European@feddit.uk•How to market switching to FOSS and EU service providers?1·1 个月前I guess there is quite some truth to your hypothesis. Organisations who want to switch probably need help in Identifying the less desirable service providers and then in understanding how to substitute or upgrade to equivalent or better services. Imagine proposing an alternative to MS Teams and showing off a combination of services that could achieve the same or better things than Teams. also: your logo looks promising but could be improved quite a lot with minor adjustments.

A gap in the pdf or actually a gap because you took years to figure it out? Both interpretations are funny.
Emacs with LSP and magit rules!
It’s more against the rain. Although some shade might be helpful too.
