I attempted, it got done downloading most of the BG3 installers, and then… It all just disappeared? No record of the files or downloads anywhere. Since it took an hour+ I gave up on that angle

I gave up, so many workarounds and reinstalls and everything for nothing. I’ve refunded and purchased through steam. Luckily someone else in this thread gave me a tip even the steam version is DRM-free, so that’s nice
Thanks for the hot tip, after spending 10+ hours struggling I’m just refunding and going to get it on steam. Having to zip my own backup is slightly annoying, but much less so than this nonsense
Honestly, same, my buying habits did a full 180 (I use to wait to get a game on GoG, now I never do). But my witcher 3 I had on GoG worked great even if it was a little less convenient, and BG3 seems like a game I’ll want to have forever, so I figured why not. Unfortunate that they had to go and give me a reason why not…
Still failed :/ If I can ask, when did you get your steam deck? Maybe there’s subtle manufacturing differences causing the issue? I got mine Sept 2022
Nope, nothing, I haven’t really modded my deck at all. I did have dexky just for steamgriddb and protondb badges, but I uninstalled both of those and then dexky itself just to be sure and no changes
Tried this on a fresh install (including new prefix) and no luck. Currently just un and reinstalled heroic itself, and am waiting for my Bauldurs gate download (again), I’ll try these steps again once that’s done and hope for the best
I was trying Heroic, but it didn’t work. I’ve installed other games through Heroic and they worked just fine. Currently installing it through Lutris to see if that works for some reason
Yep found that in my various googles, sadly none of those tricks helped me
Yep, with both exes, no dice. Currently waiting for my lutris download as a next step to try
Huh, I was not aware ScorePal was abandoned, I’ve been using it since 2017 and still use it regularly. Guess that’s why the Google Drive backup is wonky now haha. Abandoned or no still a fantastic and functional app, maybe it’s proof of the “if it ain’t broke” philosophy
Edit: I’m seeing it was updated Feb 2022 to fix BGG syncing, are you sure you’re using the original and not a clone? Or is it an iPhone thing maybe? I’m on Android
Seconding Plate Up! It’s like overcooked, except the difficulty comes from finding the best ways to run a restaurant, instead of lol-so-random kitchen mechanics. And it’s still getting regular content updates too!
God, HotS with even a little developer support + steam deck w/ a good controller scheme would bring me back so hard. Still the best Moba imo, so sad it got abandoned
One of my favorite pictures I’ve taken, playing Hive Pocket on a stream bed:
I did, for the enemy scaling mod. It requires making a “Mods” folder in the Witcher folder, and the copying the mod there, no further work. Was easy enough to do in desktop mode with the GUI
I played entirely in handheld mode, and it works fantastic. It does take some getting used to the “language” of the control scheme, but once you do it feels super smooth, and it’s impressive how much they were able to fit into a controller layout. Plus Steam Decks modifiable controls go that last mile to make things great (for example, I assigned two back button to zoom in and zoom out, as the default controls for that are kinda slow to use)
I’ve got several stickers on the back of my deck. The “I Voted” sticker has worn down pretty hard, but I suspect that the sticker quality on that one isn’t so high. My other stickers are going strong, and the deck hasn’t noticed any problems
Seconding Feast for Odin, the worker placement style combined with the Tetris puzzle and the feeding your people really makes for a great game
I had a lot of fun playing Century: Spice Road, it also has the card-based system which I appreciate. I really enjoy Splendor as a 1-player phone app (multiplayer tends to take a little long, although maybe that’s just the people I played with). Not anywhere near the Mediterranean, but I feel like Broom Service fits the general gameplay themes, and adds an exciting bluffing game
Got to play Cthulhu Wars with 3 friends, one was brand new and two had played two years ago so pretty fresh all around. I had a lead as Daemon Sultan, but made a greedy ritual play and got punished hard. New player playing black goat had the win in the bag with a ritual and 6 gates, but decided not to ritual and play with her food. She ended the next (final) round with zero gates and Cthulhu took the win instead lol
