I played it even one day earlier on PS5… and the experience really wasn’t that great tbh, and than I had a game breaking bug on top of that as well.
I decided to just wait for the DLC and the big patch… we’ll, this took 3 years haha
From what I’ve heard, the new 2.0 update and DLC are really great! So I really hope I can finally play it now haha.
I’ve also heard good things about the performance and bugs!
Did you play the new DLC?
My many problem where honestly the bugs (had a game breaking one and I just saved…) and the performance…
it’s still not the game they marketed but it’s unlikely it ever would be.
I agree! It was just way too much and too big… even with their development time, I mean look how long GTA6 takes.
Dare I say it… did they really turned around the ship? I waited since the launch to finally finish playing it (or in this case, start a new game).
Exactly! It all looks good on paper, but I’m definitely waiting for reviews. Fool me once…
Yep, expert difficulty in the original game is not enough; the Al is capped at 432 km/h at expert. The new game is like playing at master difficulty.
Ah this explains a lot, thanks! I already played a bit of the OG F-Zero… and now I even wish more for a new one.
That’s okay then, it took me quite some while for my first win, I think it was B+ or A-. So don’t worry.
Good to know, I thought I was missing something :)
Regarding power management: Did you finish Port Town I in practice mode under the time limit for the achievement? You need to use boosts where you normally wouldn’t (well aside directly from the start).
I wasn’t aware… I will try this later!
And regarding the pack: I drive as if they weren’t there (while using spin attack), meaning I drive my optimal racing line and I often can clear the pack in difficulty corners fast. Well except Mute City.
Haha, this is easier said than done, but I think my racing line is (obviously) not as great as I thought.
I already sold my physical copy and I really don’t regret it at all.
My group of friends and I where really excited and played through the story together, but the endgame just wasn’t fun. I don’t know what exactly it was, but we kinda stoped playing.
The new season and “patches” didn’t really improve it a lot imho… a shame, really!
First, thanks for you long answer!
Is Master the difficulty you have to unlock? I can’t remember, so probably not. I have it unlocked though…
I have no problems at all with the things you mentioned:
As silly as it sounds, the problem are the other cars (as always haha), but for real: once I’m in the pack I’m loosing speed and get pushed all over the place… even with the spin attack. And then I’m stuck there and usually end up around 30.
My rating is B+ now, I usually beat 3/4 opponents. And I think I’m around level 15.
Of course there are still a few driver errors, but I struggle most with getting out of the pack, if you now what I mean.
I guess I just have to git gud, like always.
And I’m sitting here and can’t win anything and I really don’t know why. I played the hell out of F-Zero on the SNES (and also on the Switch).
But I’m always 20-40… in the 99 battles no matter how hard I try and usually manage to get to the end in Grand Prix and Mini-Prix.
Maybe I’m missing something? Do you have some tips and strategies?
I find myself usually in the Top 10 in the beginning, but then I somehow tumble down in the masses of people until I’m stuck around 40…
That’s actually true, I completely forgot that!
Maybe they are testing the water in order to see how much interest there is for F-Zero? Let’s hope for the best.
I always remind myself to do this… Interesting post but no comments? Just add the first comment and a conversation will start - for me at least, there was always somebody commenting.
Another benefit is that they are more often then not patched up and better playable, compared to the release.
Me neither haha, it’s still mostly from the same podcast and a few meme post from our group chat.
The whole console war thing as stupid as the whole exclusivity thing…
If I could play Starfield right now, I would, but I also have no problem in waiting until it gets patched (which is the case with a lot of games lately).
I assume it is in part due to the Bethesda acquisition of Microsoft and that Starfield was destined to be the next big exclusive game for Xbox.
And Todd Howard’s comments about needing better hardware to play the game also didn’t help.
This was more or less the take from a (german) podcast, where they talked about their Starfield impressions.
Unfortunately my PC can’t run the game and I have to find a excuse to finally upgrade some parts to play it, so my impressions only come from other people either playing or talking about it. I will 100% play, because it is right up my ally and there a certainly many cool things to do and stuff to explore.
But for some reason I didn’t quite turned out to be THE game to play, if you know what I mean?
Yup, the rabbit hole is quite deep. That’s only the people we know to have been targeted by this version Pegasus, I’m sure the dark figure is much higher.
Thank you for directly linking the trailer!
Looks good, I’m excited - but I keep my expectations in check.
Yeah, it really feels like enshittification… gaming just got so big over the last few years. It really is not as niche as it was.
Oh yes, NMS was actually the first game I pre-ordered (digitally as well) and played it at midnight - hyped beyond the stars… to be disappointed. Then I was stupid enough to run across town to a shop that sold CP2077 a day early - to be massively disappointed again. Do you think I’ve learned my lesson - no, I also pre-ordered with a group of friend BF2042, because “they cannot possibly drop the ball” - we all now how that turned out.
At least with NMS, they really turned it around and added so much free content. With CP2077, we will see with the new 2.0 update and the DLC, but I wait for sure for reviews this time. And yeah BF2042 is now in the state it should have launched in… this is the one I regret the most.
So by now, I have learned my lesson and am proud to say that I’m pre-order free and never in my life will pre-order something again. As you said, keep the expectations low and wait for reviews and the feedback of people here on lemmy. I any don’t have so much time to play games anymore and a few days longer also don’t hurt.
I assume you are playing on PC, as I can’t justify an extensive PC upgrade right now, I’m stuck on my PS5 - but I’ve also heard good things about the console.
