In my humble opinion, the oligarchs are the root of our problem - they control media, corrupt politics. Media led to propaganda that has half the country believing an alternate “reality” that is simply lies.

That said, the reason I think we have Trump is largely Russia’s influence.

So really, it’s a combination of internal and external pressures.

Not only that, but writing code is so much easier than understanding code you didn’t write. Seems like either you need to be able to trust the AI code, or you’re probably better of writing it yourself. Maybe there’s some simple yet tedious stuff, but it has to be simple enough to understand and verify faster than you could write it. Or maybe run code through AI to check for bugs and check out any bugs it finds…

I definitely have trusted AI to write miniature pointless little projects - like a little PHP page that loaded music for the current directory and showed a simple JS player in a webpage so I could share Christmas music with my family and friends. No database, no file uploading or anything. It worked decently, although not perfectly, and that’s all it needed to do.

I’m not talking about distractions, that’s fine to discuss, but as far as I’m aware, I’ve not heard any justification for why we went in and that we’ve reached any objectives.

Sweet. I’ve been a tiny enthusiast of Markdown for almost 20 years. It’s just a great format.

I host a forum for a gaming community and it uses BBcode, which was… not completely terrible for the time, but ever since I used markdown, I’ve always hated it. heh. Markdown is just simple and easy to remember, and it’s easy to use. It quickly becomes second nature.

Well, that was a nice attempt to be cute, but it ignores realty. People being bombed probably don’t have a vote. And if they do, they should vote for Democrats who are by far the less warmongering party.

As with domestic issues, the implication is not that the Dems are perfect. Far from it. But they are generally reasonable, especially when contrasted with the fascists who most certainly are not.

Saying things like “you are living a peaceful life far away from US bombs.” in an attempt to invalidate my statement doesn’t help your case, nor does it change the reality that blue is better - or at least, less bad.

Seems like a generalized automoderator tool might be handy that would allow a wide variety of actions :)
