Lemmy and piefed can be deviated into being used as a single sub instance as an alternative but it’s just not the same.

Other than this, we are pretty fine with the basics, it would be nice to have more people working towards letting mods be mods with proper tools without involving CLI.

Also some combo like local first acting as a PDS being able to be written by different softwares. (Basically atproto or solid yes)(yes silverpill and holos are working on this but 2 different people working on 2 different implementation of the hardest thing in the fedi doesn’t seem optimal for a network made of devs lol)

that is not true, there are a lot of kanbans and ticketing software that can be used; to be fair, i should have said deactivating the possibility to open and comment except by mantainers

and in the system i proposed, you could still join and comment issues and features on piefed anyway (if you are not one of the piefed people)

some people prioritize the git forge for this and leave out the rest, but this basically says ‘‘we don’t want you’’ to all non developers

A piefed community for feature requests and one for issues, with a bot chained to linear or similar and mods to help you without being devs or learning git etc

Don’t see zulip as a chat, it’s a forum with a chat interface. So yes, making another account for a specific forum is not that bad.

to be honest, what i need is an open notion, so a lot of the stuff i want from joplin is just not gonna make it

but, regarding the apps themselves, i for sure would like a better experience and overall polish. Even obsidian is just a note app markdown based, but the experience is just better with gestures, shortcuts, nested tags, tags sidebar and so on

so maybe i’d say that i’d like joplin to be an open obsidian 🤔

Maybe “gated” communities would be better rather than private in the case you refer to

as you sensed, it’s under the website control: readers just check the rss ‘‘file’’ and show it to you in a nice way, every now and then they check for new articles and if your readers supports it you can save the older ones as they come

there can be also limits hardcoded in the reader that don’t let you take more than x items from a new feed but anyway the most majority of rss files just have the last y items, it’s rare that they expose everything (it would be a mess)
