  • Blowing with the wind, is he? Someone inform me if this isn’t just pure posturing for voters.

Edit: Holy crap! What an interesting split on this comment. Look people, all I was trying to do was glean more info on what type of billionaire behavior this guy’s been exhibiting, and perhaps have a measured discussion on the subject. Truth be told, no billionaire or person of such excessive means can be trusted until separated from such wealth and means, and certainly all high profile politicians say the favorable thing and then do something else. I’d rather folks share what they know etc even just to approximate where this guy is on that scale; it’s interesting (and somewhat disappointing) that the middle ground I imagined (ie: has done some good, still don’t trust him) just really not represented here. I just don’t know where the bar is anymore. I do know that getting vitriolic and irrational, or conversely strongly supporting establishment types is ultimately distracting and a useful tool to those in power.

  • A small group among the left seem to; saying this in regards to the left (in government: democrats, at least) in general is not accurate. It is relatively unknown to me how much of the American populace is actually woke (and I intend the old definition of that word - I think it should be retaken by those of us that desire a sociopolitically aware citizenry).

  • We’re just watching our blatantly broken and backward system do its thang. Proven rapist, adulterer, reality tv star, con man, liar, and all-around garbage human being gets kid gloves/lord and saviour treatment, while progressive anti-billionaire leaning former marine oyster farmer, with a questionable tattoo, an edgy social media past, and maybe cheated on his wife gets lambasted and crucified by what is all at this point essentially state run or just heavily for profit media.

  • I’m mostly despondent at this point; just got acutely upset when I heard this shit again. It does seem likely that our systems are broken backwards and it will all have to go, and that just seems like a lot more pain and suffering for most of us. All while the people that have stolen the levers of power make a buck to be buried in, and the protectors of those levers left or were replaced long ago. And I swear I remember a time when at least npr would report basic objective facts without such transparent agenda. And back to despondency I go.

  • Civilization V, especially considering it might often stay open all weekend on the second monitor. Also saw Eve Online mentioned; that took untold amounts of my life, but I’ve been clean for a long time o/. Arma 3 with it’s various mods also has well over a thousand, what with it’s endless modular gameplay and annoying ass realism (hiking sim). But right now at this very moment I’ve got X4 going on a few hundie. I’ve heard it called Eve Offline; I dunno if it’s exactly that, but it can be incredibly frustrating and clunky, but also crack cocaine. I think I’ve just barely figured out how to play it.

  • Indeed, though I believe it is a tiered club. Millionaires eat shit and do immoral/reprehensible things for their paycheck, and generally have to testify to the ideology in some fashion. Billionaires eat comfortably atop those particular servants, I’d speculate.

Kimmel’s in the millionaire tier and is very appropriately mediocre. It’s almost weird how he’s so much the same as when I was kid watching comedy central. Just a little more pc and mainstream (misogyny isn’t as broadly acceptable anymore, I guess?).

I just like that he’s bringing attention to the absolute disgrace of it all and a broad audience is at least in earshot. Like, maybe it’ll help. And I personally wouldn’t go so far as to give Trump credit for being correct about anything. Chalk that up to broken clock syndrome.
