“Right wing is when you’re Christian, left wing is when you’re gay”.
Americans don’t know what facism is.
That’s too bad, you should have voted harder.
To answer that question first we must understand why environmental activists and union organisers are targetted in the first place. Businesses make money polluting, clearing land etc. They also save money exploiting workers through poor workplace safety, terrible working conditions, low pay etc. It would be an impedance to capital to allow such individual in government to pass laws limiting profits.
In our liberal democractic world, money wins, no matter what the will of the people is or what the long term outcomes are, the owning class wins every time. It’s not as if people haven’t tried voting for the right person in the past. In many countries there already exist Labour parties established by workers unions. Despite this, business interests always win. Sometimes they throw a few crumbs at the plebs to appease them but it’s always big business that dominates.
Another example, remember Barack Obama’s election campaign in 2008? Change we can believe in? Then he enters the presidency and bails the banks out during the GFC and continued the war in Iraq. Coca cola hired paramilitaries to kill union organisers in Colombia. Biden campaigned on climate change action and then approved new gas piplines. I can go on and on.
Answering your question is very hard to do in a short reply. There are many books written about the topic. I recommend the following video: https://youtu.be/fcImfx8tunI?si=FfAJzdCq2qFX2RlI
Also, search the text “vote harder” in lemmygrad, it’s a meme to mock liberals.
Mfw the laws the gov said would be used to catch pedos are actually used on enviromental activists and union organisers.

This got me thinking about 2 videos related to western eurocentrism in art:
This is just my opinion but I find ballet boring. I’d rather watch Indian dances in bollywood movies. It looks way more difficult and interesting, I wish I realised this earlier.
Don’t engage with the liberals, and especially don’t argue with them. If they genuinely wanted to learn they would use the search bar instead of asking the same cliche questions over and over. They are intentionally trying to get a reaction to frustrate you.
No mention of the crimes Italy did in Dalmatia…
It’s when communism is still around 100 years later.

But at what cost? :(
Good point about the inheritance. Actually I have seen it spread by communist from a “they are not left enough” perspective.
True, good point. I still don’t see their approach become successful because from what I gather it’s just “raising awareness”, I’d hope by 2023 people are aware of climate change. I really feel for the young activists who are a part of JSO because they are trying to do something to fix the situation and are met with so much hostility from the public. To me it does come across as a way to drain young socially aware people’s time/energy away from useful actions and towards actions that won’t have any outcome.
The best approach for climate action is through workers & unions organising, eg: https://youtu.be/J5Whs9IsTds
Perhaps we could have a few pinned posts with FAQs? I’m seeing the same basic questions asked over and over again. It’s becoming tiresome especially when it’s debunking cold war/china bad propaganda 101. I really loved lurking lemmygrad over the past year because of how intelligent and interesting all of the content was from an ML perspective. I stopped using my account for a while because I didn’t feel like I could add much to the discussion and just had a good time learning from others. Recently with all the liberals joining in I have to admit I’ve been baited into finding my account log in details. It’s so frustrating to read through these long discussions every other day about XYZ false media narrative but I understand there are a lot of people who have never come across conflicting information to what they were taught in school/news. It can become a bit of a drain on your patience, it might be easier if it was all focused in one post people can be directed to.
So you would rather assist with war crimes/genocide than live in poverty? I would rather serve crack than serve the empire.
