God bless, fighting the good fight
Oh, I personally love to see it. It’s how we bridge the gap of academia and the real world. There are many things that people feel or experience but don’t have the language to discuss, but once they do it can be very empowering. If you’re familiar with urban planning discours online then you’ve maybe heard of the word “stroad” describing the horrible 6 lane + type roads in much of the US filled with stripmalls. Being on one you can get this feeling of alienation and artificiality, like something isn’t right. However once you have a name for it, you can now discuss and advocate to change the “stroad”.
This person is just describing the psychological factors underpinning self-determination theory as it applies to work but without the language to convey it: https://selfdeterminationtheory.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/2017_DeciOlafsenRyan_annurev-orgpsych.pdf

Well yeah any economic system requires government oversight to be effective but that’s because there isn’t really a decoupling of government and economics. Our current governments around the world are primarily representative democratic nation states and they are neoliberal capitalist institutions. These are not separate, both have evolved alongside each other and we are currently seeing them crack under pressure together. There is no point in making this distinction at the macro level.

I think they mean it more in the sense of “this lack of money at 93 is not the fault of the individual as there is no means for them to continue to bring in income” not "put her in the mines’

Didn’t know the dude at the liquor store you flashed your ID to was rocking the meta raybands
That is under the purview of my field of science (Industrial Organization Psychology), so it can be plenty scientific. However looking at her bio she is not an IO psychologist and has no formal training on the subject so take anything she says with a grain of salt.

You don’t store and track who buys alcohol by that ID when you go to a shop, you just show them it

Yes but those are specific ethnic populations with separate histories and cultures from Québec. Im an anglo Québécoise engaged to an Acadienne from New Brunswick. It’s a completely different group.
There is a derangement missing from his eyes in the final but all good
As a psychologist, this was a very funny little thread to start my morning. Dude doesn’t even realize he’s falling into the same thought patterns as the boomers.

Hi, Organizational Psychologist here who works in a lab alongside my personality Psych research supervisor. I have never heard of this method, never read this in any of the literature, and am genuinely disgusted anyone got ethics approval to run this study. The only way we use ML to evaluate personality is using natural language due to the tenants of the lexical hypothesis. I have never seen anyone attempt to create a big five measure from facial recognition nor have I ever heard of any theoretical models for personality based on faces…except for phrenology

Are you here in Québec?

The amounts are more than I expected but it doesn’t breakdown by if the student is local, national, or international which matters. Figures however are not very high in terms of overall debt burden compared to the US and they are lower than the national figures

She’s mixed race
She is the first female, first African American, and first Asian American U.S. vice president, and the highest-ranking female and Asian American official in U.S. history
Right from her wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamala_Harris

That tracks, its a bit less here being ~5k for most programs

It actually can be for many due to bursaries and very very easy to pay off loans. Few locals graduate with debt.

How much do they charge in your province? Tuition is very affordable here in Quebec

Deflection to be used to say this is more antisemitism to his base
Yeah, having an abundance of nuclear power is good regardless of the economic system as long as it’s done safely.
