My friend has a budget android phone, I mean so cheap that it’s only on Android version 10. The on-screen keyboard is tiny and it’s kinda stupid. It still has all the apps even though it really shouldn’t.

The quality of many dumb-phones is dubious, I think we need more options. Alcatel and Mobiwire are just prone to breaking. My Alcatel dumb-phone started to get awful call quality after about 1 year and the keypad didn’t feel 100% consistent, one button had to be held more firmly than others. In the end I had to go back to a smartphone because I needed clearly call quality. On most dumb phones you don’t get VOLTE (HD calling for anyone not familiar) but my problem was worse than not having VOLTE, it was a defective phone.

People figured out thousands of years ago that marriage is good. There can be abusive marriages and the types of societies that encourage marriage also do not encourage interfering in bad marriages. In general though, most people are honest and have good intentions and are not trying to take advantage or abuse other people, so most marriages should work fine. At least in Christianity they offer the right to divorce for reasons such as adultery, but divorcing someone doesn’t mean you can hop into bed and shag the next person. People need to get over biology and have real purpose. Acting on impulse and chemical feelings in the brain just doesn’t lead to any good when the first marriage fails.

One man, one woman applies to Christianity but not to Islam. There are muslims who advocate for men to have multiple wives but only if they’re rich, presumably. There is an Islamic sect (from India) that makes a philosophical argument for this. They also make a practical argument that after World War 2 the population would have recovered faster if men had multiple wives.

Infidelity is only rampant because people have Reddit levels of belief in decency. If people are shunned and shamed then they won’t engage in that behaviour. Only a very few psychopaths or narcissists would test the rules. That’s why they used to kill people for infidelity, it weeds out the psychos who are naturally impulsive and inclined towards evil.

We don’t really know what happens in China. We know that they execute a decent number of people but it’s not clear how many executions and what the reasons are. Totally agree with you on Gaza.

I’ve got a problem with the Chinese government allowing people to torture and kill animals for “fun” but other than having no animal welfare laws I don’t see much that concerns me. Chinese society encourages people to chase money and work outside of work hours but that’s creeping into every country these days. China proves itself again and again that it’s on par with the West in many areas.

The far-right guys that I’ve met just want a decent country to live in. If the government takes advantage of the people, you can expect bad things to happen. It’s on the government to give people a reason to not become radicalised in the first place. People will only radicalise if the government is corrupt and deliberately sabotaging the nation’s health.

If we want to de-radicalise then the government could start by apologising for its role in multiple U.S. wars which killed thousands of muslims. If our foreign policy considers the lives of muslims to be zero then naturally you’ll get the occasional BT, who described himself as a soldier. If the twin towers didn’t get blown up and if we didn’t get conned into killing people overseas, then we wouldn’t have mass-immigration or racism. Mosque shootings are blowback from the war on terror. Nobody in any far right group had anything to do with it. It’s actually NZSIS and their hostile policy towards muslims that caused a lot of the problems that we see today.

Support for this will grow, I hope. Linux on PC has been really easy for the past 10 or so years, but phones often have locked bootloaders. There’s not that much support for different models either, feels like a work in progress. I hope someone just starts up a volunteer organisation that can provide pre-installed free software.
