Cat 1 is a reincarnation of an ancient god of chilling and relaxation. He will sleep on whatever place you want to sit. Your nice garden chair? Cat. Desk chair? Cat. Bed? Cat. He’s a little burglar that will break into the neighborhoods houses and sleep on their stuff as well. Doesn’t matter if they already own cats themselves.

Cat 2 loves scratches and cuddles but will always stand juuuust out of reach, rubbing herself and rolling on the floor. If you move closer, she’ll move further away. She’s also a cryptid and only able to be photographed like a blurry bigfoot so I can’t show anyone how cute she is with her little white mittens.

There’s a high barrier for me to even start typing a comment, but I try to contribute more on lemmy. Haven’t really participated on social media in years. I guess about 20% of the time when I think I should comment I actually do it.

When I have issues eating I go for non-offensive foods that are easy to swallow such as a can of white beans in tomato sauce, plain full fat Greek yoghurt, oatmeal made with milk and not water, lentil soup. I sometimes make 1000 kcalorie smoothies with half an avocado, 2 tbsp peanut butter, cup of 10% fat yogurt, a banana, 1/2 cup oatmeal and enough orange juice to make it liquid. Will not win any taste awards but does contain a bunch of good stuff.

Nice article and very true! To help native pollinators you can plant native flowers, and also very important: leave the dead plants in your garden at the end of the season. The pollinators use the stems of dead plants for their overwintering. Please don’t place a ton of insect hotels either, solitary bees aren’t supposed to nest together and you will get mites and other pathogens that infest the baby bees (this happened in my garden and all my neighbors gardens…). If you do want an insect hotel for mason bees, clean it out every year and replace the tubes where the bees lay their eggs. Also store the tubes in an appropriate place in the winter, but be sure to put the tubes with eggs outside when it’s time to hatch :)

In my country they use vans like a Mercedes Sprinter because you can actually keep your stuff dry and even make a little workshop in there. The only use I can think of for a pickup truck is maybe gardeners so they don’t have to haul a trailer for their green waste? Could also maybe be useful to haul strawbales if you have a small farm. But you can just do that in a trailer behind your van as well, and your equipment will be dry inside the van and you can leave the trailer when you don’t need it.

Deze man maakt geen gebruik van belastingregelingen die er al zijn, hij probeert actief belasting te omzeilen door op zoek te gaan naar allerlei constructies. Hij wil dus geen lidmaatschap betalen voor het land waar hij woont en waar zijn bedrijven gevestigd zijn, terwijl hij wel gebruik maakt van de voorzieningen. Nu een wit voetje halen door geld te geven aan goede doelen maakt dat niet ineens beter. Als jij iedere dag bij de sportschool naar binnen glipt om te douchen zonder lidmaatschap, is dat ook niet ineens dikke prima als je ze uiteindelijk een keer een fitnessapparaat doneert.

Belastingregelingen die er wel zijn is ook genoeg op aan te merken trouwens: ik heb een elektrische auto en betaal daardoor geen wegenbelasting. Ik zou geen geen probleem vinden om wel wegenbelasting te betalen, want ik rijd immers ook op de weg. Ik vind het ook een onzinnige regeling, ik ben rijk genoeg om de elektrische auto te betalen en dus ook rijk genoeg om de belasting die daar bij hoort te betalen. Ik zou veel liever zien dat de wegenbelasting voor elektrische auto’s in een potje gaat zodat bijv. de gemeente elektrische deelauto’s kan kopen voor mensen met een uitkering. Ik doneer nu uit mezelf maar aan de voedselbank.

Ik snap het motief ook niet zo goed, als je zo graag iets positiefs wil doen voor de samenleving, waarom kan dat niet als je gewoon belasting betaalt? Deze familie is zo rijk, die gaan heus niet ineens failliet als ze normaal belasting betalen. Dan kunnen ze alsnog filantropische dingen doen, met misschien een of twee miljoentjes minder. Of die kerel moet kiezen om geen dikke boot te hebben, maar wel aan goede doelen te doneren. Nu komt het over alsof ze de politiek niet vertrouwen om de centen die ze anders als belasting zouden betalen op een verstandige manier uit te geven, dus gaan ze het zelf maar doen.

Leuk dat deze meneer van der Vorm wil larpen als een soort Batman, maar dit lijkt me zeer onwenselijk. Deze laatste quote ook van de directeur van een van die stichtingen:

Is this a Rosa rugosa? The fruits could be dying because of too much or too little water. Hard to say without knowing your location, type of soil and how you care for them. Is the plant still pushing out new flowers? It costs a lot of energy to make a fruit, so make sure you water and feed your plants while they are making flowers and fruits. Plants need different nutrients in the growing leaves-phase than they do in the growing fruit-phase, so be sure you pick the right fertilizer.

edit to add: I have rosehip in my garden too, but I live in Europe and I planted the native Rosa canina. I find native species easier to care for since they are adapted more to local climate and soil.

Voor iedereen die denkt dat stikstof nu een boel problemen veroorzaakt: wacht maar tot onze overheid eindelijk naar de kwaliteit en kwantiteit van het oppervlakte- en grondwater gaat kijken. We are all fucked.

Anders dan alle Tweede Kamerleden en het hele kabinet vervangen door kloons van Emile Roemer zie ik het ook niet gebeuren. Zonder gekheid, we hebben een mediacode dat namen van verdachten in een strafzaak alleen verkort worden gebruikt, misschien moet er ook een politieke mediacode komen dat iedere partij evenveel aandacht krijgt en dat ze bepaalde uitspraken misschien ook gewoon negeren. Er is bijv soms langdurig heel veel media aandacht voor partijen met heel weinig zetels, dat geeft ook een vertekend beeld van hoe belangrijk die partijen zijn.

Als je dingen doet die tegen de wet zijn, hebben we daar politie en justitie voor. Met een fakkel langs iemands deur gaan is niet nodig. Ik heb nog nooit D66 gestemd, maar ik vind dat we zo niet om moeten gaan met politici. Dat Geert al jaren in de zware beveiliging zit vind ik ook heel erg, wederom: zou nooit op hem stemmen, maar je hoeft iemand niet te bedreigen.
