Hi! I’m Katherine, or webkitten. I’ve been on the internet since our family got our first computer - a Tandy Sensation.
Yes, I went to computer camp as a kid and learned how to program BASIC on Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 4.
I’m trans, queer, and bisexual. #actuallyautistic
I started programming with PHP in the mid 90s and haven’t stopped. I’m an advocate for the open web; I used Netscape as long as I can remember.
I have an obsession with Hello Kitty, Moogles, and Squishmallows.

Anything Snow Leopard and before > Linux Mint > Current macOS.

I’d say probably The Adventures of Tintin just because it has the nostalgia value of not just being a show from my childhood but also memories of watching it every Sunday morning at my dad’s house (he had HBO so it was rare to see it).
Yeah, I misread the credits thinking it was a year. But the picture is still great. :)

“This will allow YouTube to locate the best content.”
Ads are technically content, I suppose.

If you’re able to, I just use CalDav with Tasks/DavX on Android.

I got a really bad stomach infection and was going to wait until my mum got there the next day but I hadn’t been eating or keeping anything down and didn’t think I could drive since I could only stay up for very short times so I ended up calling 911 to go to the hospital and I couldn’t stop apologizing to the dispatcher.
I felt bad cause I felt like I was wasting their time but they got me there and I got to ride in an ambulance.

Caulk the Wagon ~ 2006
Which started getting recommended to me thanks to Starkid. :)
I love local media, especially vinyl, cassettes, and CDs. When they’re not available, however, I’ll listen to Sirius (Lithium!) or YTM or my local library of mp3s.

Honestly, I’d love Starz to get it before Paramount or Netflix.

This will definitely get people to stop torrenting movies and shows, David.
I do love how they’re raising prices for all to give away UFC for free, so basically if I was a subscriber, I’d pay a higher monthly fee for something I don’t care about.

I have yet to hear an clear argument about why it’s time to evolve into an AI browser or how evolving into an AI browser can improve my day to day life.

Yes, but they’re magical and revolutionary ads. You’ve never seen ads like these before.
The old extension platform before the switch to WebExtensions. I was just saying Firefox pre-Quantum was better than post-Quantum (after the switch to WebExtensions and away from XUL extensions).
There’s something about Times Square pictures from < 2007. <3
Even if they do make me associate it with the movie Phone Booth.
I use Fennec and Nightly on Android, mostly because of extensions. On desktop, I’ve been using Vivaldi.
Personally I feel that XUL Gecko > Vivaldi Chromium > Current Gecko. Especially since Vivaldi’s built in tracker and ad blocker is really good and Chromium feels much smoother than current Gecko. I do hate that it’s propping up Chromium market-share, but at least I can set up Vivaldi to use their own custom user agent.
I feel that Gecko/Firefox lost so much with the switch away from XUL and to WebExtensions.
And they’re still probably better than me. :(
I don’t understand why they need GenAI for placeholders; part of the fun of the creative process is coming up with fun, crude drawings that are clear placeholders.
