My meagre understanding : we estimate the age of the universe by factoring some observables like the light and radiation we get from the universe’s past, with constants like the speed of light. This new research proposes a model where one of those constants evolves over time, which would significantly alter the final result. It is called the coupling constant but I don’t know enough to explain more 😬
Those 4kb only held a fraction of the computation needed to fly to the moon though. All the complicated heavy stuff was done by humans and bigger computers down on earth.
